Barco bridges the pixel gap with the
ten megapixel LX-5 projector
Barco
proudly announces the launch of its LX-5 projector, with a native resolution
of 10 million pixels. Featuring a high dynamic contrast range of 10,000:1,
the LCoS-based LX-5 is poised to be the ultimate
choice for image accuracy and color quality. Barco’s LX-5 pushes new, revolutionary liquid crystal on
silicon (LCoS) technology to its limits by
maximizing its capabilities to generate images with an extreme pixel density.
With its resolution of ten megapixel,
and its incredible 10,000:1 contrast ratio, the LX-5 radically enhances human
perception of visual data. The LX-5 offers its users the chance to display
the most detailed images and data for pixel-perfect analysis and discussion.
This is important for presentation environments that require the display of
finished product designs, aerial views, detailed data sheets or ultra-high
definition graphical content. It displays up to four 1080p HD sources
simultaneously in their native resolution, which makes for an enhanced, true
comparison of detailed fields of data and images. Thanks to its LCoS optimizations, Barco’s
LX-5 projects true, realistic black levels. Its bright light output of 4,500
lumens and adaptable color temperature further
result in a great variety of lighting environments in which the LX-5 can be
deployed. This renders it the perfect, cost-effective single-projector choice
to power medium-sized presentation and collaboration venues, where
previously, complex multi-channel setups were required. ISE: J73 More: http://www.barco.com |

Planar: Two new 1080p projectors
Planar
Systems announces two new 1080p projectors, designed exclusively for the
specialty home theater market. The Planar PD8150 is
a 1080p DLP with Dynamic Black projector, horizontal and vertical lens shift,
integration connectivity, a centered lens and
Planar customized Gennum VPX video processing for
an astonishing image. It provides 1,000 max lumens of brightness and a
15,000:1 contrast ratio. Rounding out the offering are integration-caliber performance and connectivity, including V1.3
HDMI. The Planar PD8150 has a unique industrial design with an amazing
high-gloss piano-black finish and comes with a dark room-optimized remote
designed with a low-light theater in mind. Built
from the same platform as the PD8150, the Planar PD8130 offers the same
impressive proprietary design and features a DLP-based engine with VXP video,
vertical lens shift, 10:000:1 contrast at 1,000 max lumens and advanced
connectivity, including multiple HDMI and Component inputs. Both projectors will
be available in January and are sold exclusively through authorized Planar
Specialty Home Theater Dealers. The PD8150 and
PD8130 will be demonstrated at ISE in the
Planar demonstration room on level 1, room D. More: http://www.PlanarHomeTheater.com 5)
projectiondesign: F20 sx+
Medical DLP projector introduced
projectiondesign is now
providing medical imaging specialists with a cost effective large screen
viewing 1.5 Mega Pixel color DLP projector for the
reproduction of critical medical images at SXGA+ resolution. “Film-less PACS
systems are fast became the standard for clinical and hospital environments.
We believe that applications such as medial conferences, review and teaching
as well as the viewing of X-rays, CAT scans, clinical photographs, MRI scans
(magnetic resonance imaging), ultrasound images, endoscopy,
digital histopathy (biopsies) and radiographs will
all benefit from the accuracy, image quality and reliability produced by the
Texas Instruments BrilliantColor image processing”,
comments Anders Løkke, Marketing &
Communications Manager at projectiondesign. The F20
sx+ medical combines DICOM compliant Bluebase, Clearbase and Full
White modes, and has been designed to be particularly easy to use. It
features a wide range of digital and analogue connectivity, and is compatible
with up to 2 Mega Pixel resolution imaging. Furthermore, images can be viewed
either in 3:4 portrait or 4:3 landscape modes. ISE:
