1)      ISEurope 2006: ISE and PLASA Sign Cooperation agreement

Only a few weeks and the 3rd ISE will open its doors. By combining the best elements of one of the largest trade communities in Professional Lighting and Sound with Europe’s biggest trade show in Audio Visual Systems Integration, the two organisations will augment their knowledge of AV Systems, Lighting and Sound to turn ISE 2006 into the most stunning visual trade event ever held in Europe. This collaborative effort is the result of a joint co-operation agreement intended to establish a framework to heighten the awareness and importance of AV systems Integration in the Rental and Staging environment by harnessing the influence and standing of a major trade show with a world leading professional lighting and sound association. To demonstrate this, PLASA will be organizing the Lighting and Staging Pavilion at ISE 2006. In addition they will be using their influence in the community to attract other leading companies involved in the Lighting and Staging business. According to Matthew Griffiths, Managing Director of PLASA, this co-operation agreement has important positive implications for the future of the European AV Systems Integration event. "The Autumn PLASA event in London is traditionally centered on entertainment & installation technology and draws an impressive global attendance. ISE is stronger on the other end of the spectrum, getting more AV Systems Integration-related exhibitors and a stronger pan-European attendance. With this profile, PLASA really complements ISE. It marks a new day in the relationship between one of the leading trade communities and Europe’s biggest AV Systems trade show, particularly in the Events and Rental business for AV companies.” Mike Blackman, Managing Director of Integrated Systems Europe added that unifying the two organisations in a joint event of this calibre, will benefit all areas of AV and Staging. “I feel this is a highly positive step for both our organisations and the industry as a whole. We, along with our other partners have been working closely with PLASA since the first edition of ISE was held in 2004 and recognise the tremendous role PLASA will play at ISE 2006 and in the future to expand this innovative and emerging market.”

4)      NEC: powerful LCD projectors with WLAN

The LT280 and LT380 projectors are ideally equipped for professional presentations. They are brighter, attain XGA resolution and, as a result, deliver excellent image quality. They are high-speed WLAN-capable and guarantee convenient wireless and network handling. The LT280 and the LT380 are highly professional projectors with multifaceted features: they incorporate excellent functions, sophisticated details and diverse professional applications. They deliver projections with a higher light output than the predecessor models of 2,500 (LT280) and 3,000 (LT380) ANSI lumens. The new LT projectors attain XGA resolution (1,024 x 768) and deliver convincing image quality. High-speed WLAN capability and the ImageXpress Utility 2.0 software that comes with the projector enable various applications and guarantee convenient wireless and network handling. These high-tech components also make it possible to integrate the projectors in a highly-segmented network. Thanks to the WLAN IEEE 802.11g standard, it has been possible to reduce data transmission time from formerly 700 ms to 500 ms, which means that the projectors are now 30 percent faster than before. 5)      Liesegang dv•470 – the practical projector

Liesegang presents its dv•470 XGA projector as an economical, yet robust option for presentations in small and medium sized conference and education rooms. The dv•470 will be available as from end of November. With an impressive luminous intensity of 2000 ANSI lumens, its contrast ratio of 500:1 is equally formidable. Numerous interface options – two computers, three video inputs and a monitor output – ensure the projector’s suitability for professional presentation in small and medium sized conference rooms. The second RGB input can be also defined individually as RGB output. The Liesegang dv470 offers a XGA resolution of 1024 x 768 and due to its 2.8 kg weight, is also very suitable for portable usage. To ensure ease of servicing and to facilitate lamp changes with ceiling installation, the appropriate opening is located on the top side of the projector. Video representations are optimally projected thanks to progressive scan (De-Interlacing). Automatic signal source recognition and manually adjustable film mode recognition make this projector very easy to handle.

6)      Epson: EMP-750 and Epson EMP-755

Whether for on-location presentations on customer’s site, at trade shows, at the POS or in a conference room – Epson’s ultra-portable EMP-750 and EMP-755 projection professionals offer a solution for these kinds of applications. With a mere 1.7kg and 1.8kg weight, these new XGA projectors offer more than one would expect: 2000 ANSI lumens, Epson’s eye sensitive 3LCD technology and E-TORL technology (Epson Twin Optimised Reflection Lamp). 7)      SANYO: the new PLC-XU86 and PLC-XU83 projectors

In September, SANYO expanded its business and education product line with three new entry-level models. With its new PLC-XU83 and PLC-XU86 projectors, SANYO is rounding off its line-up in the strongest sales segment: XGA, 2000 – 2500 ANSI lumens. In terms of specifications, both units are more generously equipped and are targeted primarily at corporate/business users. One of the major highlights is the integrated LAN (RJ-45) and WLAN connector. Not only do they permit wireless transfer of presentation data, they allow the projectors to be controlled and managed over wireless and cable networks as well. A brightness of 2500 (PLC-XU86) or 2000 (PLC-XU83) ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 400:1 guarantee that data is displayed in vivid detail even in difficult lighting conditions. The XGA resolution (1024 x 768 pixels) contributes to the outstanding image quality as well. The lenses have been completely revised and optimized. With projection ratios of 1.44-2.25:1 (PLC-XU83) and 1.23-1.93:1 (PLC-XU86), there should be a place for these new projectors in virtually every conference room. With its 2.6 kg, the projector is a true lightweight.

8)      Geha: flexible presentation through auto-brightness

The new Geha compact 238 beamer offers flexibility and is fully equipped for any kind of application. The projector is ideal for presentations in conference rooms or classrooms. Featuring a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels (XGA), it delivers even the smallest detail in pin-sharp images. This presentation professional consists of a VGA and S-video input, a monitor output, a RS-232 interface as well as an USB interface for mouse control via a laser pointer equipped remote control. Featuring a brightness of 2200 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 500:1, the compact 238 will deliver outstanding presentations. Using brightness reduction in eco-mode, the lamp life span can be enhanced to 3000 hours. An integrated light sensor adjusts brightness and contrast of images to the relevant lighting conditions. Hence, preparation time of presentations is shortened tremendously. A fan noise of only 33 dB allows for silent operation.

11)  Toshiba: flexible presentations with the C001 projection camera

Toshiba Projection & Display Technology (PDT) now offers the option of a projection camera for Toshiba projectors. The optional c001camera is mounted on a flexible arm 55 cm in length and can be swivelled through a full 360 degrees. A CMOS sensor with three million pixels guarantees crystal-clear images. This add-on ”Visualizer” system is designed to appeal primarily to customers in the fields of business and education. It enables, say, hand-written notes to be incorporated easily into a lecture, or objects to be projected onto a wall or screen for closer examination. The projection camera also enables today’s projectors to double up as classic overhead projectors. For customers who already own a Toshiba projector, the camera is a simple method of upgrading their device to the same range of functions as a new model with integrated camera. The optional c001 projection camera is easily connected to all common Toshiba projectors via the RGB port. The camera comes into its own at unversity lectures or product presentations in conference rooms, projecting razor-sharp images of any objects, sketches or diagrams required onto the screen. Even in larger presentation rooms, the zoom of up to 400% enlarges details to give a clear view right to the back row. Further useful features of the camera are the gain setting to optimize contrasts, and the scroll function enabling the projected section to be changed without moving the object or slide.

12)  sax3d.com: HOPS-Touch – the interactive device

sax3d.com presents HOPS.®-Touch. The interactive device, consisting of capacitive foil and connector, is set up onto the rear of HOPS, the Holographic-Optical Projection Screen. The device is then connected via cable to a PC, which then again is connected to a projector. Special Windows® compatible software helps aligning the device; various glass thicknesses can be considered here. HOPS products are mainly characterized by transparency, brilliant images and sharpness as well as homogeneity of image surfaces. All these characteristics are carried forward in the HOPS -Touch. A very long-lasting life span and easy handling are the results. The fact that the device is located on the rear of the projection screen, thus avoiding direct contact between user and the interactive device, helps achieving those positive results. A special highlight, however, is the fact that users will only need their own hand to operate HOPS -Touch; further tools such as pens are not needed at all.
