2)      For the first time 40,600 visitors at the SECURITY

For the first time with 40,600 trade visitors from 56 nations, the 17th global fair for security and fire protection achieved the best result in its successful history and clearly consolidated its position as the number "one" in the world. Above all, it made substantial progress internationally: The proportion of foreign companies amongst the record figure of 1,036 exhibitors in total from 48 nations rose to 42 percent. Around one third of the trade public came from abroad. More trade visitors travelled from Eastern Europe, the USA, Asia and the United Arab Emirates. Security 2006 proved to be the meeting point of the competent decision-takers. 98 percent of all the guests were security specialists - from the industrial field, security service providers, authorities, police and fire services, factory security forces, commerce, skilled trades as well as the insurance sector. 86 percent indicated that they take procurement decisions alone, have a say in them or play an advisory role in them. Over a quarter (28 percent) of the trade public has placed orders or will still do so. One important subject in the industrial field is video surveillance technology whose efficiency is being increasingly characterised by the software used. The 18th global fair for security and fire protection in Essen will open its doors in two years, from October 7 to 10, 2008. 89 percent of the exhibitors and 88 percent of all the visitors have already decided: "We will come again".

4)      Toshiba: t45 business projector

The new t45 projector from Toshiba Projection and Display Technology (PDT) adds DLP-based XGA model to the company’s range of business projectors. The t45 not only comes with an extensive array of features, but also offers an outstanding price/performance ratio. This sleek, elegant black DLP projector has a brightness rating of 2,500 ANSI lumens and 2,000:1 contrast, guaranteeing crystal-clear and detailed reproduction of, say, PowerPoint presentations even when lighting conditions are suboptimal. The resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels provides for 1:1 reproduction of computer data, eliminating any need for conversion that could impact on quality. Three picture modes, Bright, Standard and True Color, enable images to be aligned to ambient conditions. In addition, the t45 weighs in at under three kilograms, making it ideal for mobile use. Toshiba’s t45 is the successor to the company’s successful t40 business projector. The brightness rating was enhanced to 2,500 ANSI lumens, enabling the t45 to deliver outstanding razor-sharp images even in poorly darkened rooms. Anyone planning to use the all-rounder for mobile applications will be delighted at its low weight. And quality-conscious business people will be convinced by its list of improved features.

6)      SIM2: D80 as an addition to the 1080p chip DLP® projection line

SIM2 Multimedia recently announced a new addition to its Domino projector line: the D80 projector based on Texas Instruments’ 0.95” 1080p DLP® chipset for a true, uncompressed 1920x1080 HDTV resolution. On-board video processing prevents the introduction of motion artefacts and jagged edges. Also, the D80 features a wide selection of inputs - including HDMI™ - and is compatible with all video and graphic standards. Easily upgradeable, the RS232 allows enthusiasts to easily download the latest control software. The D80 can represent the following formats: 16:9, 4:3 letter box format as well as three user-defined formats. 8)      dnp takes the Supernova Screen one step further

At Integrated Systems Europe 07 in Amsterdam, dnp denmark presents a new retractable version of their award-winning dnp Supernova front projection screen – the dnp Supernova™ Flex Screen. When not in use, the new flexible screen disappears into a stylish wall mounted enclosure that compliments modern interior designs. Like the fixed Supernova Screen, the Supernova Flex Screen delivers an extraordinary ten times higher contrast and two times brighter images than standard front screens. When the screen drops down it appears as a picture frame without the usual ‘black drop’ common to other screens. Even when in use the Supernova will be unobtrusive and blend into the environment. The cover of the enclosure is removable and replaceable. It is offered in a variety of options including a special stainable surface, which can be painted to match the wall for totally invisible installation. The dnp Supernova Flex Screen is available in 4:3, 16:9 and cinemascope format in sizes up to 100”. The screen is compatible with all standard projectors.

27)  Artcoustic launches new precision monitor and a matching subwoofer

The Spitfire Monitor is based on the powerful DF75-55 X2 but with a more compact form and durable finish ideal for use where the aesthetics are less crucial i.e. behind a dedicated, fixed cinema screen. The Spitfire Monitor, like the DF75-55 X2, is one of the most versatile and arguably, for its size, the most powerful full-range model in the Artcoustic range. It is equally at home in a high-end hi-fi or home cinema system, a 200-seater cinema, or anything in-between. The X2 bass system employs twin 10" X2 woofers which take low frequency response down to 35Hz, while the twin rippled dome tweeters extend the high frequency response up to 40kHz at 96dB (1w +/-2dB). The Spitfire Monitor is ideal for use in high-end installations, where sound quality is paramount, such as mid-field to full-space studio monitoring, for medium to large sized home cinema installations, and for commercial use in bars, restaurants and corporate presentation facilities, including commercial movie theatres. The Spitfire Monitor is bi-wirable, enabling control of the woofers and tweeters independently and comes as a mirrored pair for accurate stereo monitoring. For the ultimate in low-frequency performance, the Spitfire subwoofer delivers awesome bass reproduction. The Spitfire Subwoofer is based on the Artcoustic DFS100-75 subwoofer but with a more compact form and durable finish, making it ideal for the professional market, such as recording and film studios, dedicated cinemas and fixed installations in general. This model changes the way subwoofers are perceived. Employing no less than four 10" X2 long-throw woofers, and the X2 bass system to reproduce low frequency signals sumptuously, with high power handling and extremely low distortion, right down to 15Hz.
