and allow the projection of a 16:9 format with a 4:3 or 5:4 projector or a
projection of a Cinemascope 1:2,35 format with a 16:9 projector. The
anamorphic video attachments can be used with nearly all LCD/DLP projectors.
There is no adapter needed because the anamorphic video attachment is placed
in front of the prime lens of the projector. Another novelty on the photokina
booth was the Home Cinema Projection Unit HCPU V2. It allows moving the
corresponding anamorphic video attachment in and out of the light path of the
projector, either with a manual or with a remote controlled version. The
following high quality formats can be achieved: 16:9 TV Widescreen, 2.35:1
CinemaScope and 4:3 standard TV. With a 16:9 projector, it is even possible
to rotate the anamorphic lens by 90° to achieve the best possible 4:3 picture
size.

The current

lamp manufacturing and planned increases in capacity will not keep pace with
the growing demand for lamps in business and consumer front projectors and

will be on track to produce about 15 million UHP-type lamps. Their baseline
forecast for lamp demand calls for 25 million lamps by 2007. The report is

- MDR is using Panasonic camcorder
German TV-station
MDR is using a Panasonic DV-camcorder AG-DVX100A for a pilot scheme named
"video reporter/video journalist". The decisive criterions for the
use of this camcorder were professional equipment, high digital picture
quality and the possibility to easily integrate the filmed material in the
DVCPRO environment via IEEE1394 interface (Fire wire). The material can also
be edited on stationary DVCPRO recorders. Nearly all stationary devices for
the Panasonic DVCPRO- and the DVCPRO50-formats can play miniDV-, DV- and
DVCAM-tapes. The MDR is using DVCPRO as a standard since 2000. In the future,
the wireless P2-system will be added.
