- DVS: HD-real time editing with CLIPSTER
Since its unveiling at NAB 2003 DVS has further redefined the
real-time HD editing-workstation CLIPSTER and new features have been
implemented. After this year's IBC DVS has started worldwide shipping of the
system. A growing amount of work in
today's modern post-production houses is done digitally. Thanks to its
flexibility CLIPSTER can be applied to and placed at the center of digital
lab work processes. "Users need a platform to handle editing,
compositing and effects, supplying all the tools needed to complete the
project. We designed CLIPSTER with this need for flexibility in mind",
comments Hans-Ulrich Weidenbruch, Managing Director of DVS. In line with this
philosophy, the workstation supports compositing with Adobe After Effects,
discreet combustion und eyeon Digital Fusion. The open plug-in interface,
too, facilitates cooperation between DVS and other manufacturers. For
example, today CLIPSTER supports the film-restoration solutions from HS-ART
and MTI. The great advantage of using CLIPSTER in this environment is its
inherent real-time capability enabled by a potent video I/O board – developed
by DVS. CLIPSTER is available in storage capacities of 800, 1600 and 3200 Gb.
