1)      viscom Italia 2009: Europe’s biggest exhibition for visual communication

With just a few weeks to go, the countdown to viscom 2009 has begun, with a whole host of new features on the way for an edition designed to turn the classic trade fair concept on its head, offering visitors a three-day live experience packed with contacts, opportunities to share ideas and learn more and to establish face-to-face relationships. The top international trade fair and conference on visual communication and event support services to be held from 5th to 7th November 2009 in the Fiera Milano exhibition centre in Rho, which attracted 600 suppliers and 21,000 visitors to its 40,000 qm space in 2008 – will be presenting a cutting-edge 21st edition, the central feature of which will be face-to-face contact. “In a scenario where everything appears uniform, face-to-face communication is the key that makes the difference and opens doors in the world of business – says Brigitte Hunt, the director of the exhibition. Viscom is an event that offers a 360° overview of visual communication. How will visual communication change in the future? What are the emerging technologies and which applications can already be integrated? An answer to all of these questions can be found in the new Digital Signage by Viscom area. Digital Signage is a means of communication, a marketing and promotion device and a CRM tool. It is a combination of the most advanced technologies that are often integrated with more classic tools to form a mix that is changing the face of visual communication.

3)      viscom duesseldorf: 10.900 trade visitors

"In a generally difficult economic environment, viscom was able to demonstrate its strength as a positive impulse giver", Hans-Joachim Erbel, Managing Director of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH, remarked at the close of the three-day event. With more than 10,900 trade visitors, viscom succeeded in growing by more than 22 percent compared to the previous event in Düsseldorf (2007: 8,900), again exceeding last year's top result in Frankfurt. Growth was generated equally at home and abroad. "Our exhibitors' innovative capacity beats the crisis", is how viscom Director Petra Lassahn delightedly sums up the course of the three fair days. This is also evident from the results of the business barometer, a survey taken at viscom by an independent research institute. According to this survey, more than 80 percent of the companies interviewed expect a positive trend in business, with only one in six expecting the economic situation to deteriorate further.

5)      Euroscreen: New innovative technology

The popular recessed projection screen Sesame from Euroscreen has been upgraded for an even easier and quicker installation. A major modification is the cassette’s removable end flange, which makes above/under access of a fixed or suspended ceiling very simple. This new feature, together with new especially developed brackets, provides a trouble-free installation of the case in a prepared ceiling cut-out later during the construction process. Furthermore, the Sesame 2.0 case is now even more stylish in its appearance: the tilt function of the case is concealed, and the external flange profiles are integrated with the cassette. Along with the already smart design of the bottom bar which creates a nice closure of the cassette’s gap when screen is retracted, this is an appreciated aesthetical improvement. The Sesame 2.0 is also equipped with a rigid bottom bar with more space for weight when required.

6)      dnp denmark: The beauty of video-conferencing

The global economic crisis has brought the time and cost involved in physical meetings into focus like never before, accelerating a trend towards virtual meetings which was already underway before the so-called ’credit crunch’ began. At the same time, reducing carbon footprint has become a priority for multinationals. Since emissions from aviation (domestic and international) currently account for between 1.9 and 2.4% of total global CO2 emissions, cutting down on flights is quite simply, one of the easiest ways for companies to clean up their act. Happily, these days the combination of increased bandwidth and improved image compression software has greatly improved the video-conferencing experience. It is now possible to transmit a good quality, live video signal. And with the emergence of optical bright room projection displays, an entire meeting and all its participants can be seen clearly, all at once. The components of a video-conferencing system are either an integrated VC-solution or a PC with video-conferencing software installed, broadband internet connection, a microphone, a dedicated video-conferencing camera and a screen. Being the focal point of the system, the screen is arguably its most important element. dnp optical projection screens enhance the image by focusing and concentrating the projected light. Thanks to their advanced optical lens system it’s possible to get high quality images, even in brightly-lit environments.

7)      eyevis: Rear Projection Cube with LED Light Source

With the new EC-LED cube series, eyevis presents a revolution in the fields of modular video walls. The displays are available in different sizes and resolutions. Besides native HD-resolution (1,920 x 1,080 px) and SXGA+ (1,400 x 1,050 px), this new technology will also be available in WUXGA resolution (1,920 x 1,200 px) in 16:10 image format. With this rear-projection cube with LED light source, eyevis has set a milestone. The cube is designed for sophisticated 24/7 applications. The technology is based on the DLP (Digital Light Processing)-technology by Texas Instruments. This display technology allows the display of high-resolution images in best image quality. The cubes were developed according to the requirements in areas with difficult lighting conditions and other security relevant conditions. The MTBF of the LED’s averages 55,000 hours according to the manufacturer.
