Canon: Three new projectors
Canon
introduces three new projectors: LV-7215, LV-7210 and LV-5210, all of them
part of the new multimedia product family. Six image settings provide perfect
picture adjustment for data and video projection. Switch to hi-contrast mode
to make graphs and photographs look sharper. Cinema mode is ideal for
watching films in a darkened room. While custom mode lets you fine-tune
several factors, including adjusting images that are too light or too dark.
Canon's Auto Image mode is especially useful for video and DVD projection in
darkened rooms. When black areas on a screen are a shade too light, the
projector automatically adjusts lamp brightness to bring out a pure black
effect. When a projector is placed at an angle to the screen it can cause
image distortion. The LV-7215 features both horizontal and vertical Keystone
Correction to overcome this problem, providing distortion-free images. A
DVI-D interface gives a direct digital connection to compatible PCs and DVD
players, for a clearer picture. A high quality component video connection
supports VCR, DVD and High Definition TV projection. All three projectors
look alike from the outside, the only difference is in resolution and brightness:
LV-7215 has 2500 ANSI-lumens and LV-7210 has 2000 ANSI-lumens. Both have XGA
resolution. LV-5210 has 2000 ANSI-lumens with SVGA resolution for pin sharp
images.

38) Yamaha: high resolution DSPs,
integrated video processor
Yamaha presented at the IFA among other
things the actual generation of amplifier with integrated video processor.
This processor takes on a lot of sophisticated functions which are otherwise
attributed to the projector or the DVD player. The DSP-Z9 is for example the
first amplifier that allows the output of progressive scan signals even
though the applied DVD player does not support this function. Moreover,
Yamaha has again enhanced radically the capability of the DSPs. Opposite to
the previous top model DSP-AZ1 the DSP-Z9 works with the triple data
frequency. Also, the 96 kHz/24 bit signals are for the first time directly
handled by the DSP programs.

43) NEC-Mitsubishi: Get your luggage faster
with the LCD3000
The monitor manufacturer NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display Europe
equipped the airport in Zurich (UNIQUE) with the prize winning 30”-LCD NEC
LCD3000. The 33 devices are now used as information displays in the extended
baggage claim areas so that people can get to their luggage much faster than
before. The introduction of the 30” displays was followed by the larger 40”
version very quickly. NEC-Mitsubishi thus entered a new market segment and
was the first provider who was able to deliver. The LCD-audio-video-monitors
have a viewing angle of 170° horizontally and 170° vertically. With the very
low switching speed of the displays (25 ms LCD3000 and 23 ms LCD4000) videos
can be displayed clearly in DVD quality. In contrast to other presentation
technologies (e.g. plasma) no phosphor is used here so that there is no
“burn-in” effect. This ensures a permanent brilliant picture quality and
lengthens the operating time. Apart from that both displays are provided with
a multitude of interfaces.

44) New at LANG-AV: BARCO iLite 6 LED module
From now on the
renter LANG AudioVision AG near Cologne offers besides its own well known
product series the iLite modules of market leader BARCO. The
management of the company decided for the multifunctional product iLite 6
because of its small pixel distance. The high resolution makes a brilliant picture
possible, even if there is only a very short distance between the audience
and the module. Another important aspect for rental purposes is the solid
processing of the modules, which allows trouble-free versatile installations.
The main argument for the investment of the dry-hire company was the
increasing request for LED modules. Further information on availableness,
renting charges and reservations is available under 0049 (0) 2266-4764-0 or
per e-mail.

Electronics Design and Installation Association) is the trade organization of
custom home theatre designers and installers. In September of each year the
CEDIA trade show brings together vendors, dealers, installers, and retailers
to showcase the latest in equipment and supplies that have anything to do

debuted at this show, which took place in Indianapolis over the first weekend
in September. This year's show featured a bumper
crop of new projectors priced as low as $1,399 and as much as $30,000 or

price category. With the products now hitting the market, even modest
investments in home theatre projectors will give viewers better picture

for Compact Flash Media allows the direct projection of data without the need
for a PC or laptop. Amongst the many tools producing a dynamic and striking
presentation are the manual zoom lens and the digital zoom, for enlarging
picture clips, the manual focus, a presentation timer as well as a remote
control the size of a credit card to operate the projector. A further feature
when projecting upwards is the digital keystone correction. And thanks to its
sleek design, anti-vibration technology and innovative fan technology, the
XD50U has a low noise output of just 36.8 dB (low mode) and thus can hardly
