5) Canon: quiet and bright with LV-7350/7355
Canon presents the new projectors
LV-7350 and LV- 7355 at the photokina. They shine in the XGA class and
distinguish themselves by an extremely high light power, a contrast ratio of
350:1 and an aesthetic and compact design. The LV-7350 presents itself with
strong 1800 ANSI-lumens and is especially recommended for stationary and
mobile business use. The bigger brother LV-7355 is with 2200 ANSI-lumens
predestined for professional presentations in front of a large audience. With
only 4,3 kg these lightweights are operational at any place and are also able
to function cordless with the help of wireless LAN. With a reduced and
therefore extremely low noise level of less than 36dB, the new projectors
LV-7350 and LV- 7355 function in the whisper mode. The Canon Brightsystem is
comparable to a Turbo and improves the light performance of both models by
more than 10%. The trick of the bright systems: a filter within the
projector, which normally optimizes the colour balance is mechanically
shifted, so that the light intensity is improved. Both models will be
available in stores in September 2002.

6) NEC HT1000: The sharp home entertainment projector
NEC is
introducing a DLP- home cinema projector at the photokina. The HT 1000
guarantees ultimate cinema enjoyment for the living room- regardless of
whether you are watching film highlights on TV, or computer games in large
format or DVD top movie hits. With a previously not known contrast ratio of
up to 2,500:1, the new home cinema projector provides brilliant and
especially sharp images. Its highlight: contrast and brightness are manually
infinitively variable and adjustable Furthermore the HT1000 utilizes the new
generation of the DLP- Chip with the so called DDR-Technology (Double Data
Rate). Thereby the miniature mirrors turn with a higher speed on the chip as
do conventional DLP-Chips, so that clearly a higher quality image is produced.
NEC has developed a special, digital Video- Decoder, which optimizes the
videosignal for a resolution of 1,024- 768 pixels. Its noise is barely
audible with only 30 decibels in the sleeping mode.

The company Helmut Manuell that is
busy as a OEM producer of cubes for large screen backprojections since
several years, announced in August that the company will present its own
large screen backprojection cubes on the market. The new projection units are
not only impressive because of the typical first class quality the company

12) Folsom BlendPRO: new Wide-Screen-Technologie
Folsom Research is presenting a
new Wide-Screen-Image- Processor with BlendPRO at the photokina. BlendPRO can
be controlled by four High-Resolution-Sources and employs the source signal
to produce an overlapping seemless image which can be sent to up to four
projectors. The result is a seemless Wide-Screen-Projection. The size of the
fade-over area as well as the characteristics of the fade-over function are
individually programmed by the user. Several BlendPro-Units can be connected
for larger applications, so that more than four projection surfaces can be
realized. BlendPRO simplifies the building of Wide-Screen-Presentations
considerably, because the preliminary processing of source material is not
necessary. BlendPRO ist compatible with the Folsom-Seamless-Switcher,

become a bright pleasure with the new SANYO line-up of portable projectors.
The models PLC-SU32/XU32/XU37 as well as PLC-SU33/XU33/XU38 convince with
high brightness, many professional features and excellent flexibility.
Because of their handy size (333 x 89,5 x 253mm) and their low weight of 4,2

15) Epson: Multitainment-projector for beginners
Video and computer presentations
become more and more important when it comes to information and entertainment
- in the small office/ home office area , at home, or in the classroom. This
is the reason why EPSON puts the EMP-30, a multitainment-projector for
beginners, on the market. The EMP-30 is provided with a light intensity of
800 ANSI lumens and has a real SVGA-resolution. The EPSON
ColorReality-technology with RGB-color management allows an improved color
reproduction between periphery sets. The projector is very quiet (35dB) and
because of its low weight (2,9 kg) not only suitable for fixed installations.
The lamp of the projector burns up to 1.500 hours. The Component-input makes
the reproduction of films on DVDs possible. The EPSON-EMP-30 receives
high-resolution movie- and TV-signals via the HDTV-jack. The high definition
television format gives digital video films a real cinema look because of its
higher line number and the 16:9 picture format.

16) A+K AstroBeam X20 – the pocket-projector!
Anders and Kern introduces the new
A+K Astrobeam X20 at the photokina. This DLP-model with XGA-resolution is the
smallest and lightest data-/video projector that has ever been offered by the
Norderstedt presentation- technique- specialist. At first sight it is hard to
believe that the mini-projector with the size of a DIN A5 page (19,5 x
15,4cm, width x depth) reaches the incredibly high brightness of 1100
ANSI-lumens. Even more noteworthy in this context is the fact that it is
almost not audible. One can hardly hear its operating noise of 32 dB. The
Astrobeam X20 is equipped with a computer-input which can process analogue
and digital signals. Furthermore it is provided with diverse useful
presentation functions like digital keystone-correction, digital zoom and
many more. The projector will probably be available at qualified specialized

33) Hitachi Software: New - StarBoard EM Panel
Hitachi Software Engineering
Europe is extending its StarBoard-Family of interactive presentation
solutions with a StarBoard Electromagnetic (EM) Panel, which can be used with
a wireless pen. The bendable and rotating 15“-LCD-Display weighs 4,7 kg and
enables the lecturer to give a presentation without turning his/her back on the
listeners. The StarBoard EM Panel stands for the highest product quality
which is well-known through the electromagnetic whiteboards LC 50 and LC 70
and the Backprojector R70X produced by Hitachi Software. The especially
coated LCD- surface is antiglare. Therefore the visual angle is enlargened to
160° (vertical and horizontal), and the display can be seen from almost all
angles. Furthermore the display can be erected anywhere between 18° (almost
flat) to 73° (almost standing). Because the foot can be removed, the
StarBoard EM Panel can easily be balanced on the user’s knees or on the edge
of a table. The anthracite-color StarBoard EM Panel is available at the
dealers for the suggested retail
price of 2300€.

projectors etc. necessary. The splitting and the calculation of the keystone
take place automatically, the CD-trackname is directly taken by click from
the internet-databank. At this year’s photokina Stumpfl GmbH will be
represented at two booths in the halls 8.1 and 14.2. Of course the reliable
