1)      lifestyle media at photokina takes shape

From September 26 to October 1, visitors to "lifestyle media at photokina" will be able to learn about the many ways in which audiovisual signals can be linked and controlled in the home. This section of the World of Imaging will be part of the Audiovisual Presentation and Communication Technology area in the new Hall 9. At the heart of "lifestyle media" will be a presentation area that realistically depicts everyday living spaces while incorporating lifestyle-oriented technologies designed to meet the needs of today's consumers. Koelnmesse has attracted several renowned partners for this activity section of the trade fair. COMM-TEC and Panasonic will be contributing their expertise to the area in the center of Hall 9 measuring over 1,000 sqm. The platform was created by Koelnmesse in cooperation with COMM-TEC and Panasonic in response to the rapidly growing consumer demand for products and solutions for the "smart" home. Divided into different living spaces (such as the living room, bedroom, study and kitchen), "lifestyle media" will present realistic multimedia applications that can be networked in the home. Professional presenters will guide visitors through these areas and demonstrate the systems in a lively, interactive way, and visitors will also be able to try out the systems for themselves. The space will be devoted to all aspects of the image as a visual interface so that visitors can find out just what possibilities are opened up by the networking of today's building technology with state-of-the-art communication, information and entertainment technology. The "lifestyle media" exhibition area will be located around the activity area. Registrations have already been received from lifestyle technology companies that have not typically exhibited at photokina to date, including Bosch-Siemens (household appliances), AMX (control units for building and media technology), Klafs (wellness and saunas), and Ritto (door intercom systems).

8)      Toshiba has enhanced product line by LCD-projectors

Toshiba Projection & Display Technology (PDT) is enhancing its product portfolio by the „x-series“ that will cover the LCD projector segment. The new, innovative XGA devices are the showpieces of state-of-the-art universities, colleges, schools and other educational institutions as well as companies thanks to the NCE3-Chip developed by Toshiba. 16)  Glimm Screens’ bright news

You may know Glimm from its rear projection screens. Today the company has enlarged its product portfolio with some extremely clear and bright solutions. “In a lot of cases people don’t understand that the quality of the image you project depends largely on the quality of the surface you project it on”, founder and owner Bjorn Bijster says. “We constantly try to find new materials and solutions that help people improve their projection. If you use a projector for home cinema appliances, for board roam meetings, or whatever, people just want the best. So that’s why this year we have introduced the new Glimm Holoscreen, the first 100% transparent version.” It looks like normal glass, but in fact it isn’t. Glimm use micro acrylics to get the effect, all have been waiting for. On the other hand there is a trend that people are looking for natural materials. For those customers Glimm introduced the Glimm Glass Line:™ glass screens that ensure a clear, bright and smooth image. One product in that range is the the Glimm Super Onyx: a super high contrast front projection screen.
