Dear newsletter readers!

This issue of www.AVP-Newsletter.com presents you with latest news from the data- and video projection / presentation.

1)      viscom: New conference “viscom tec.09 conference“

In any size, on just about any material, printed, digital, mobile or web-based and interactive, as a digital signage solution, a media façade or a large format print: visual communication is currently facing what may be the biggest wave of innovation in its history, confronting marketing decision-makers, media planners, advertising agencies as well as "movers and shakers" in the field of printing, advertising technology as well as shop fitting and trade fair construction with new challenges. With the "viscom tec.09 conference", to be held for the first time on 30 September, on the day before start of the international trade fair for visual communication in Düsseldorf, viscom takes a peek into the future. It shows where advertising communication is headed and what will be "state of the art" in the years to come. In doing so, viscom will provide a new forum that will bring customers from industry and commerce, agencies, media planners and productioners from advertising technology and printing companies together in a one-day conference with a workshop character.

2)      IS Russia 2009: New highlights at December’s Moscow show

When the third edition of Integrated Systems Russia opens its doors on Tuesday, 8 December, it will be far more than merely another regional tradeshow for the professional AV and electronic systems market. Co-organisers Integrated Systems Events and MidExpo have announced a string of new attractions, all designed to boost attendance, and increase business opportunities for exhibitors and visitors alike. Among the new attractions will be special pavilions for Russian manufacturers and for conferencing; a greatly enhanced ‘Digital Education’ area featuring real-world room AV solutions; and a ‘ProIntegration Awards’ programme for the Russian and CIS markets, to celebrate best practice in regional systems design and integration. All the new show features will be augmented with specially tailored seminars as part of IS Russia’s enhanced education and conference programme, while the ProIntegration Awards will be presented at a ceremony during the show’s Opening Reception on 8 December. A number of logistical changes have also been made to IS Russia as it returns to Moscow’s beautiful and centrally located Gostiniy Dvor convention centre – home of the inaugural show in 2007. This year’s show will take place over three weekdays to allow greater flexibility for professional visitors, while the dividing line between IS Russia and MidExpo’s co-located tradeshow, Hi-Tech Building, has now been drawn lengthways down the hall to increase ‘cross-pollenation’ of attendees between the two events.

The Integrated Systems Russia will be held from 8–10 December 2009.

Interactive voting systems, or audience participation systems, continue to flourish across the globe, with more than eight million handsets forecast to be sold worldwide next year, according to a new report from Futuresource Consulting. “This equates to a sales value of nearly US$400m, 50% more than last year,” says Colin Messenger, Senior Consultant, Futuresource Consulting. “With the bulk of the business coming from the education technology market – which is highly recession-resistant - we’re going to see a lot of traction for these products. The USA continues to lead the way, and we predict one in 12 of its classrooms will have a voting system by the end of this year, closely followed by the UK, Australia and New Zealand. We’re also seeing penetration rates closely correlating with those of interactive whiteboards, but on a four year time lag.”
