and video projection / presentation. 1) viscom frankfurt 2008 enlarges exhibition area
Five
months before opening, the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication
can report a lively demand. Even at this early stage, the exhibiting
companies have already booked an area ten percent larger than was the case
for the previous event in 2006. So far, a total of 145 exhibitors from 17
countries have confirmed their stand booking. In addition to an extensive
supporting programme with numerous seminars, workshops, lectures and
practical examples from the entire field of visual communication, viscom addresses topics such as Digital Signage and
Industrial Inkjet Printing and presents a special show with innovative

3) The European Digital Signage Show
Digital
Signage is growing exponentially in virtually every sector. Successful
deployments can now be seen, not just in trains
stations, shopping malls and major retail stores, but across the board in
just about every walk of life. KioskCom – Self
Service Expo Europe already delivers both exhibitors and attendees focused on
digital signage, and so provides the perfect platform to introduce The
Digital Signage Show to Europe. KioskCom draws on
over 12 years experience of successful events in the States where the show
takes place twice a year in Las Vegas and New York. The event was brought to
Europe in 2006 with huge success. Now in its 3rd year the show has grown
significantly in both size and attendance. Each year it has seen increases on
every key performance level, and for 2008 it will take place on 1-2 October
in Olympia, London with over 100 exhibiting companies. More: http://www.kioskcomeurope.co.uk |

NEC
Display Solutions presents the new NEC VT800 LCD projector in its VT series.
The projector is Windows Vista compatible, enabling it to be quickly and
simply connected to any local network - additional software or administrator
rights are not required to achieve connectivity. Its
Ethernet compatibility and Windows remote desktop control functionality allow
data streaming from remote content sources. The NEC VT800 achieves the
highest possible video quality using the strong noise suppression of HQV
(Hollywood Quality Video) technology. With a brightness of 2,700 ANSI lumens,
the NEC VT800 grabs the attention of any viewer. It is particularly suitable
for deployment in the public sector, in companies and in education, for
example for conferences, meetings, presentations or lectures. More: http://www.nec-displays.com |

6) CASIO presents eight new super slim business projectors
CASIO
introduces eight new super slim models from their successful range of
slender-fit projectors. The highlights of this launch are the business models
XJ-SC215 and XJ-SC210 with 2,500 ANSI lumens. Extremely lightweight and flat,
these two new products particularly stand out due to their excellent colour
reproduction. The super slim models XJ-S57, S52, S47, S42, S37 and S32 will
be available at the end of July. All new models in the XJ series have an
RS232c interface which allows projector operation via the controls and
integration into existing systems. Technical enhancements in the new
high-performance business models XJ-SC210 and XJ-SC215 with their USB
interface are centred on colour reproduction optimisation in projections. To
realize such an improvement, CASIO has introduced a specially developed
colour wheel. The new intelligent lamp control has also decidedly improved
colour reproduction of these super-slim projectors. The super slim models
XJ-S37, S47 and S57 can be quickly and easily connected via a direct link to
CASIO FX-9860G graphing calculator models or to the YC-430 camera system.
These projectors can also be used to give presentations without the actual
need for a laptop or PC. To do so, the supplied EZ-Converter Pro software
will convert all printable files into JPEG format – files can now be shown
directly from a USB stick, a remarkably easy and uncomplicated process. More: http://www.casio-projectors.com 7) Kindermann: Bright and professional KX 5000 XGA projector
Kindermann presents the KX 5000, an exceptionally bright XGA projector for large
projection screens suitable for the education sector and for seminars and
conferences. Thanks to a stunning brightness of 4500 ANSI lumens, a very low
noise level of just 29 dB, a LAN connection as well as the possibility to use
interchangeable lenses (available as of July), this 3 LCD projector is
perfectly equipped for fixed installations. Featuring five different signal
inputs (VGA, DVI, video, S-video, component video), the KX 5000 can process
signals with a physical resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, interpolated also up
to 1600 x 1200 pixels. The standard wide angle lens allows for large
projections from a short distance, and the two telephoto lenses available
this summer will enable projections from longer distances. The technical
specifications are rounded off by an 8-watt speaker, vertical
keystone-correction, monitor output and a serial interface for media control. More: http://www.kindermann.com 8) Barco: three-chip DLP WUXGA projector
Barco
is pleased to announce the latest addition to its portfolio of projectors:
the NW-12. It features a native WUXGA resolution (1920x1200), offers users a
greater pixel canvas, allows them to display more sources than ever in full
resolution and is fully compatible with modern high-end laptops. Barco’s NW-12 brings WUXGA to the three-chip DLP
platform. This readies Barco for the next stage in
professional visualization for venues that need more resolution. Applications
for WUXGA resolution not only include full display of high-end computer
laptops, but also text messaging that can be combined with native 1080p HD
video. The NW-12’s ultra-bright 12,000 lumens output renders it optimally
suited for the bright ambient light conditions of auditoriums, large meeting
rooms or conference halls. It also comes equipped with edge blending
capabilities, so that they can be installed in any desired configuration. Barco’s NW-12 is designed with a sealed optical engine,
which prevents dust from contaminating the projector’s image quality. In
addition, it features liquid cooling to prevent the system from overheating
and reduce noise levels to some of the lowest in its class. To complement the
three-chip DLP NW-12 projector, Barco also releases
the smaller single-chip DLP NW-5 projector. Although it possesses the same
sealed optical engine and multi-channel capabilities, it offers a light
output of 5,000 lumens. This makes it the projector of choice for small- to
medium-sized meeting rooms and boardrooms. More: http://www.barco.com 9)
InFocus: The X10 Full HD projector featuring DLP
technology
InFocus is presenting the X10, a DLP
model featuring full HD resolution for a stunning home cinema experience. The
device features technical highlights so that the 1080p DLP projector with BrilliantColour delivers sharp images in clear colours.
The InFocus X10 home cinema projector offers the
following technical features: 1,200 video optimized ANSI lumens allow for pin
sharp images even in not so ideal light conditions. A contrast ratio of
maximum 7500:1 boosts great contrasts and crisp images. Both the 7-segemt
colour wheel and the HDMI 1.3 source support featuring Deep Color Technology allow for extra bright colours. And
thanks to integrated 10-Bit video processing technology each scene is
projected crystal clear boosting natural details and movements. More: http://www.infocus.com 10) Philips and projectiondesign annouce their collaboration
Royal
Philips Electronics and projectiondesign announce
their collaboration in developing ultra-high brightness projectors which are
equipped with the highest levels of UHP lamp powers. This cooperation between
the two companies has resulted in a 3-chip DLP, dual 400W lamp projector
prototype that produces an impressive 10.000 ScrLm
brightness. With this milestone, Philips and projectiondesign
demonstrate that UHP based projectors have the potential for applications
requiring extreme high brightness such as high-end e-Cinema, events,
visualization and simulation. Philips UHP lighting technology is commonly
used for a wide variety of projection applications ranging up to 6000 Lm.
Higher brightness applications (> 5000 Lm) are traditionally served by
Xenon lighting technologies. “With the development of UHP-based 10 kLm projectors, Philips UHP technology will now enter
Xenon dominated application areas”, said Ruud van der Zanden, Senior Product
Manager for High Power Solutions within Philips DPL. More: http://www.philips.com/dpl 11) WolfVision: New Visualizers VZ-8light3 and VZ-8plus3
