Barco
announces the launch of its XDC-3000, a 10 megapixel,
single-projector display system. Through its unique Windows desktop
integration and user-friendly multi-windowing software, the XDC-3000
increases the efficiency of decision-making in high-end meeting rooms and
boardrooms. Thanks to the XDS Control Center
software suite, Barco’s XDC-3000 offers mouse and

Beamax: From Living Room to Home Theatre
in less than 30 seconds
With so
many High Definition games and movies available, there has never been a
better time for a large screen in the living room. Yet, a living room that's
dominated by devices does not appeal to many families. With the Beamax In-ceiling projection screens it's now possible to
enjoy high definition home cinema without the drawbacks. An in-ceiling
motorised projection screen is installed in the false ceiling and rolls down
at the press of a button; turning a living room into a true home theatre in
less than 30 seconds. Available immediately through the Beamax
reseller network, the In-ceiling range comes in sizes up to 300 cm (118
inches) wide, is the equivalent of 9 TVs with a 42" diagonal. The Beamax In-ceiling series are operated by a tubular motor
with thermal protection, shutting the screen off automatically when the motor
becomes too hot. This feature protects the motor and increases safety as well
as the life of the screen. The motor can be controlled by infrared and radio
frequency remotes, as well as a 12V trigger that lowers the projection screen
automatically when the projector is switched on. More: http://www.beamax.com 8)
G+B pronova: Holopro
auf der Light+Building
Welcome
to the HoloPro Lounge! This was this year's slogan
above the G+B pronova Light+Building
fair stand. Thanks to the video visuals by Nicolai Konstantinovic and Katrin Koeppl from Cologne, many visitors were able to
experience HoloPro in a brand new way and in many
conversations G+B pronova was inspired for new
projects. HoloPro without visible structures is
more suitable than ever for becoming an integral part of media room concepts.
Another highlight was the world premiere of a new HoloPro
system: A curved glass screen with a 30" HoloPro-4 attracted all the
attention. The system contains all the components in its foot and can be set
up and moved easily. Its elegant, modest shape makes this latest HoloPro deviate ideal for showrooms, receptions or modern
fair stands. More: http://www.holopro.com 9)

Minicom Advanced Systems has completed a
major white paper comparing the repercussions of different locations for
media players in digital signage applications. The paper is called "Cost
Ramifications of Player Placement in Digital Signage Networks" and it
illustrates the major reduction to the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of digital
signage networks that can be achieved by placing media players in a back
room. Ronni Guggenheim, President Minicom Europe says “Digital signage integrators and
customers are always looking for ways of maximizing the return on investment
from digital signage networks and protecting the total cost of ownership of
their systems. This new white paper shows how extension technology safeguards
their IT investment“. The new white paper is for free and can be downloaded
at Minicom’s website at http://www.minicom.com/requestplace.cfm. More: http://www.minicom.com 12) COMM-TEC to distribute doremi
Technologies
More: http://infosys.comm-tec.de/englisch/Doremi-02.html 13) Extron: Two new MediaLink
Controllers
Extron
Electronics is pleased to introduce two new models of the popular MLC 52
Series Basic MediaLink Controllers now designed to
mount in an MK junction box. The MLC 52 RS MK and MLC 52 RS VC MK MediaLink Controllers act as an extended remote control
panel, providing user-friendly control for a display's power and input
selection. The MLC 52 RS VC MK also features an integrated volume control
knob for use with Extron's popular MPA 122 Mini
Power Amplifier. These new control panels are easy to configure, making set
up fast and simple by using one of the hundreds of serial and IR device device drivers found on the Extron
Web site. The MLC 52 RS MK and MLC 52 RS VC MK offer a central point of
control for a display device's key functions eliminate the need for a
handheld IR remote control and make system operation much more efficient.
With the MLC 52 RS MK and MLC 52 RS VC MK, there are no misplaced remotes to
search for, no confusing menus to navigate, and no dead batteries to replace.
No matter what brand of display is installed in each presentation venue, MediaLink Controllers
always provide a consistent control method from room to room. Presenters with
little or no training can walk into any MediaLink
equipped classroom and operate the A/V system with minimal effort. Both
models are available in white and mount in a standard MK junction box. InfoComm:

13/19pin
KINDERMANN
has developed an installation cable that can be set up easily and quickly.
Thanks to a flexible adapter set, users can fix the necessary plugs easily to
the beginning and the end – a soldering of the cable ends is not necessary.
This patented system uses installation cables with 13 or 19 pins realizing
many common video signals and plug connections. The corresponding adapters
for VGA, S-video, video via Cinch or audio via jack, DVI or HDMI are just
connected to the round plugs at the beginning and the end of the cable. The
13pin-version is suitable for up to 3 analogue signals such as VGA, video or
audio and is available in the following lengths: 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30
meters. The 19pin-version is designed for DVI and HDMI. It is available in 10
and 15 meters length. Both cable ends are equipped with high-quality soldered
plugs, featuring gilded contacts and a thread. More: http://www.kindermann.com 15) Kramer introduces the VP-435
Component/UXGA HDMI Scaler
Kramer
Electronics has announced the availability of its VP-435 Component/UXGA HDMI Scaler. The unit, which incorporates HDMI technology,
scales incoming video signals and outputs an HDMI signal with any associated
audio embedded. The VP-435 is ideal for projection systems in conference
rooms, boardrooms, hotels and churches, as well as for home theater and residential use. Kramer Electronics’ VP-435
Component/UXGA HDMI Scaler outputs a
High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) signal, which is an uncompressed
all-digital audio/video interface, widely used in the residential and home theater industry and growing in popularity in the Pro AV
market. HDMI can deliver the maximum high-definition image and sound quality
in use today. The VP-435 unit accepts one of three inputs, component video,
computer graphics video, or an HDMI signal, and scales the video while
embedding the audio, then outputs the signal to an HDMI output. The VP-435 is HDTV compatible, and the
incoming signal can be scaled up to 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i or 1080p, all of
which are selectable using a front panel button. The unit automatically
detects and selects an audio source for the HDMI input: if HDMI audio is not
present, the VP-435 employs audio from the analog
input. The VP-435 is housed in a desktop-sized enclosure, operates via 12VDC
and comes with an On-Screen Display (OSD) for easy setup and adjustment. It
offers a non-volatile memory that retains the last settings used. The unit
can be controlled directly using front-panel buttons, IR remote control
transmitter (included with purchase), or a remote dry contact switch. InfoComm: booth N5141 More: http://www.kramerelectronics.com 16) Gefen: Extending Hi-Def Displays with
RS-232 and IR Control
When high
definition video displays, touch screens and computer monitors need to be
extended away from their source or mounted in a remote location, Gefen's HDMI RS-232 CAT-5 Extender enables a simple
method of signal delivery. With RS-232 and an IR back channel delivered
alongside HDMI, users can adjust their displays, change settings and access
audio/video sources from up to 50 meters (150-feet) in distance.
Long-distance source control through the display is ideal for digital signage
installations where A/V equipment is located in rack-mounted spaces away from
the viewing area. Sender and receiver units connect the A/V source to the
remote display using category-5 cables that transmit 1080p full HD
resolutions as well as RS-232, IR back channel and HDCP-compliance. Up to 100
meters (330-feet) can support hi-def resolutions to 1080i. Installation of
the system is simple, requiring a local connection of the A/V and RS-232
equipment to the sender, and the display to the receiver. Source connection
cables are included in the package. InfoComm: booth
