Panasonic:
XGA LCD projector with integrated WLAN
The new Panasonic micro portable XGA
PT-LB20NTE LCD projector is characterized by 2000 ANSI lumens brightness and
a 400:1 contrast ratio. It is equipped with "daylight-view"
technology recently developed by Panasonic. This technology allows for presentations
in daylight environments. Even pastel are represented true to original. An
ambient light sensor (ALS) which is integrated in the control panel
recognizes light variations and in four steps immediately optimizes colour
compensation. In addition, the "daylight-view" mode can recognize
artificial light sources with various colour temperatures and then
automatically carries out the white balance. Thanks to the
"daylight-view" function the 2000 ANSI lumens PT-LB20NTE projector
achieves a picture quality that is typically found in 3000 ANSI lumens
projectors. Furthermore, it is now possible to easily connect up to 16 PCs
with a single projector. To realize this, Panasonic presents a warless
networking solution: The PT-LB20NTE consists of an integrated IEEE 802 b/g
compatible WLAN allowing for wireless video and sound transmission. Hence, a
single projector can receive data originating from several PCs. Received
pictures can then be projected simultaneously in a multiple window. Users can
choose between 4-window mode, 4-window index and 16-window index. Wireless
projector control is possible as well as transmitting pictures from a PC to
up to eight PT-LB20NTE projectors. Detailed information is available on the
Panasonic websites. More: http://www.panasonic-europe.com 13)

JVC
Professional Europe: The new JVC DLA HX2E
JVC
is pleased to announce the launch of a new D-ILA Projector, the JVC DLA-HX2E.
The new Projector contains unique JVC technology with three reflective,
1.1-megapixel WXGA-plus 16:9 D-ILA chips for smooth, flicker-free, high
resolution images. This results in cinema-like screen pictures without any
visible pixels or line structure. The natural colour reproduction of the
DLA-HX2E Projector is derived from the combination of JVC's exclusive
analogue gradation technology, giving accurate colour gradations in areas of
low brightness; a high contrast ratio of 1500:1 giving high quality pictures
in even the darkest of scenes and a 4-colour profile mode to ensure colour
reproduction close to the original. The superiority of 3-chip projectors,
like the new JVC DLA-HX2E Projector, produces more stable, flicker-free
images. The 3-chip technology simultaneously produces images on separate RGB
panels inside the projector and then re-combines the three light beams to
project a true, full colour image which is totally free of visual artefacts.
An HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) decoder is built in to
the JVC DLA-HX2E Projector to allow the highest quality digital-to-digital
signals to be projected without any of the image degradation caused by
conversion in and out of the analogue domain. This is combined with JVC's
original DIST (Digital Image Scaling Technology) to deliver high performance
projection. " More: http://www.jvcproeurope.com 15)

SeeReal
hooks up to 3D
CAD Workstation
At
Hanover Fair 2005 CAD users enjoyed the first chance to experience a complete
3D workstation with the SolidWorks® CAD program on a SeeReal monitor.
The 3D Workstation shown at the PNY stand featured SolidWorks' CAD program on
SeeReal's auto stereoscopic monitor, the SpacePilot 3D mouse from 3DConnexion
and an Nvidia Quadro stereo compatible graphics card. This unique
collaboration created fantastic effects and demonstrated outstanding
functionality. Up to four windows can be shown simultaneously, allowing the
user to switch each window from 2D to 3D. Thanks to the SpacePilot 3D mouse,
navigating in space, twisting and turning objects, is a very simple and
intuitive affair. This marks a major breakthrough, confirms Markus Gras from
UNITEC: “One of the problems working with CAD programs are the optical
illusions that can occur when you cannot judge the depth. But with the stereo
monitor you solve this problem, saving time and avoiding costly mistakes.”
Erik Nielsen, SeeReal Sales Manager comments: “We see this installation as a
door opener into the CAD business. A 3D-CAD workstation cannot be perfect as
long as they only consist of monitor, 3D mouse and good software. All
components need to work together properly in order to be of use for the user.
We have achieved such a successful technical combination through the
partnership with Nvidia, 3DConnexion and SolidWorks." The combination of
the CAD application and Nvidia's driver makes access to the third dimension
effortless. Current stereo drivers for SolidWorks® are available for
registered users at www.solidworks.com. More: http://www.seereal.com 24)

friendlyway:
extended composer software version
friendlyway introduced the latest composer
software version. The extended friendlyway composer software allows for
multimedia presentation display arrangement and control for large displays
and projections. Among the important functions is easy integration of
presentation media such as PowerPoint, PDF, video, live TV, internet and
others. In the past, working with large video or PowerPoint files could be
cause interruptions during presentations when exchanging media. This
interruption was due to technical shortcomings. The new software version
excludes such an interruption in media projections. To achieve this, new
media are preloaded in the background before shown in the foreground. In
consequence, media contents can now be exchanged with animations (e.g. flying
through from right to left). Consistent, interruption free transitions during
media exchange are the result. The friendlyway composer software 3.1.006.1

Kramer
Electronics: New Computer Graphics Video DAs
Kramer
Electronics, Ltd., is pleased to announce the newest additions to its product
line – the VP-3xl, VP-4xl and VP-5xl computer graphics video distribution
amplifiers. These models have newly designed sync circuitry to ensure
compatibility with the range of sync signal variances found in many of the PCs
and displays in the market today. The Kramer VP-3xl, VP-4xl, and VP-5xl are
high performance distribution amplifiers (1:3, 1:4, and 1:5) for computer
graphics video signals. Each machine includes front panel EQ control to
compensate for long cable runs, and switches for ID Bit control. The machines
have a video bandwidth in excess of 375MHz (-3dB) fully loaded, making them

“In the market today it is a fact of life that many PCs and fixed resolution
digital displays have subtle variances from what would be considered standard
sync signal levels,” states Chris Kopin, vice president of Product
Development for Kramer Electronics USA. “As a result, signal processing
equipment such as our DAs must be designed to accommodate these wide
variations in the sync signals that they process, so that any PC or any
display connected will operate flawlessly every time. The VP-3xl, VP-4xl and VP-5xl have newly
designed sync processing circuits that address this issue.” The VP-3xl,
VP-4xl and VP-5xl each accept one input, provide necessary buffering and
isolation, and then distribute the signal to each of its identical outputs.
The machines have internal international power supplies and are housed in a
half 19" enclosure. The Kramer VP-3xl, VP-4xl and VP-5xl are now in
stock and available from Kramer Electronics sales companies around the world. InfoComm:

the DVI-1000 HD video extender but is equipped with more durable fiber optics
cable connectors to accommodate the rental and staging markets with its
extensive handling demands. Though armed with cable connectors that are
better able to endure frequent and repetitive setup and take-down procedures,
the DVI-1000 ST uses the same methodology to extend high definition digital
video up to 500 meters (1640 feet) from source to display. Small sender and
receiver units link the source to the extended display with multimode fiber
optic cables, available from Gefen in lengths ranging from 33 to 330 feet.
The DVI-1000 ST supports high resolutions up to and including 1080p or
1920x1200 for computers, and is equipped with DVI inputs and outputs to
connect its sender and receiver units to the source and the extended display.
The DVI-1000 ST is currently available online at www.gefen.com with shipping
estimated to begin in June 2005. InfoComm,

Germany: Geneva motor show 2005
With more than 250sqm fascinating LED
technology the CT team once again supported their customers on the Geneva
motor show setting a course with technical innovations. High resolution 6 mm
LED screens from Barco were delivered to the Geneva motor show from both
European CT offices in Germany and London and installed with additional audio
visual media technology from the CT rental park. Brilliant pictures with
various creative video and graphic contents realized stunning visual
communication with the audience. Among the highlights: a 22sqm curved LED
wall at the Skoda booth equipped with CT camera technology that was used for
the press conference. Furthermore, several single screens featuring almost
50sqm LED technology at Volkswagen as well as two ILite 6 XP LED walls for
the Audi press conference were installed on the booths. Customized
constructions such as moving and curved screens were used at the Volkswagen,
Saab and Skoda booths. The Volkswagen booth also featured seven moving, high
resolution Barco ILite 6 XP LED screens which were controlled in connection
with additional nine D-Lite 7 LED screens. At Saab, nearly 100sqm

DVS:
CLIPSTER® supports KODAK Display Manager
DVS Digital Video
Systems GmbH and Eastman Kodak Company will partner in the distribution of
the KODAK Display Manager System. CLIPSTER®, DVS' leading DI system, will
incorporate KODAK Display Manager in its new software version which was
presented at NAB 2005. In Digital Intermediate process, DI, the entire film
is scanned and all steps such as editing, conforming, finishing and
versioning are performed with digital data in HD, 2K or 4K resolution. The
complete process can be handled by CLIPSTER in real-time in all formats,
making CLIPSTER the one-stop solution for Digital Intermediates. However,
images vary when displayed on different viewing devices and can differ again
from the intended look of the projected print film. KODAK Display Manager
eliminates this problem by providing a calibrated environment where the
digital display or projection accurately simulates the look of the projected
theatrical print. KODAK Display Manager consists of calibration hardware and
proprietary software utilizing KODAK colour science that adjusts electronic
display devices to accurately emulate the looks of film. Exact simulation of
the final look of the film-master on the monitor is the result. More: http://www.dvs.de 38)
Panasonic:
wireless HD video transmission
For the first time worldwide, Panasonic
recently demonstrated wireless transmission of HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) film
and corresponding sound from D-VHS recorder to video projector. The HD
picture was projected on a 10 metre screen in 16:9. Viewers were excited
about the stunning picture quality. Katsuaki Shimaoka, director of the video
projector department at Panasonic AVC Networks (Japan): "The combination
of HD picture quality and wireless video transmission sets a course for
future developments with regards to our projectors both in the professional
and home cinema range." Even before last questions regarding encryption
standards and copyright protection are resolved, Panasonic already impresses
with technological know-how regarding integration of wireless film
transmission in its projectors. The basis of this technology is the
possibility for ultra fast data transmission in combination with a
proprietary development of distribution algorithm that can adapt to
respective environments. The PT-LB20NTE and the PT-LB30NTE (available in July 2005) represent the
latest Panasonic models in the class of micro portable projectors featuring XGA resolution. Details are available on the websites. More: http://www.panasonic-europe.com Yours
