2) ISCO: Innovation Award from WRG
With two proposals ISCO participated in the 2004 innovation award of
the Association for Business Development of the county administration of
Göttingen/Germany: The cinema projection lens series with outstanding imaging
performance is protected through a worldwide patent and has already been
awarded in Hollywood. The new lens design guarantees an essentially improved
brightness distribution and results in a brilliant and even projection with
up to 60% more light on the entire screen. The Anamorphic attachments enable
an optical image conversion for Digital Cinema from Widescreen to Cinemascope-Format
and for E- and Home Cinema Applications from 4:3 to 16:9 or from 16:9 to
Cinemascope (2.35.:1) without light loss and loss in resolution. With the
advanced technology of the anamorphic lenses, you have no more black bars
across the top and bottom of the picture area, reducing the resolution,
brightness and contrast of the image on the screen. For both proposals ISCO
was awarded and received prize. More:

Hitachi:
CP-SX1350 LCD projector
Hitachi
Digital Media Group showcased the new CP-SX1350 projector on CeBIT, an S-XGA
LCD projector with 3,500 ANSI lumens. This projector is a further development
based on the CP-X1200 and the CP-X1250. Like its two predecessors, the
CP-SX1350 is equipped with four changeable lenses, vertical lens shift,
multiple connections and a network interface. The CP-SX1350 offers various
application possibilities that are especially handy in business applications,
CAD/CAM visualizations, and control rooms as well as in the education sector.
Combined with vertical lens shift function, the featured four changeable
lenses (fixed lens, short, midrange and long focal length) guarantee almost
unlimited flexibility in any installation. Hence, the CP-SX1350 is a device
that is especially interesting for the rental staging market. An image
diagonal ranging from 40“ to 500“ the CP-SX1350 projects both pin sharp still

Epson:
The new EMP-732
Seven
seconds is the time that the new Epson 3LCD feather weight - the Epson
EMP-732 – needs to warm up. This new 1.7 kg business projector with Epson
3LCD-Advanced-Imaging-projection technology represents an extremely handy
3LCD special device. It is the ideal partner for business people who are in
the field frequently and need to present while on the road. The EMP 732
measures just 19 x 27 x 7 cm, hence, a truly compact device. Thanks to its
2000 ANSI lumens, this projector is especially bright even at daylight.
Thanks to E-TORL technology (Twin Optimized Reflection Lamp) viewers can see
a pin sharp projection in a compact environment. This technology bundles
light avoiding scattered light with minimal diffraction and thus allows for
an extremely compact optical system. Thanks to automatic keystone correction,
presentations are projected without any distortion, no matter the room
position. Even from a two meter distance a 60” image can be projected
perfectly thanks to the short lens. LCD projectors realize outstanding, vivid
and natural colours that do not fray. This projection technology does not
affect the human eye by representing colours and shades through fast
flickering. The eye can see the entire image which is stabile and gentle to
the eye. More:

More: http://www.samsung.com 19) Vantage: New Touch Screens
Vantage Controls, manufacturer of automated control and dimming systems for residential and commercial applications, will soon complete its range with two new touch screens and has recently launched a new designer Toolbox. A touch screen is extremely useful. In Comparison with a keypad, it is much more visual because it works with icons and images. An icon of a TV for example can denote that the light is dimmed if you start watching TV, using the same icon you can obtain a comfortable temperature – the surround system can be started and the film also, thus not only the light is controlled. The first one of the new Vantage products is the Color LCD320C5 touch screen tabletop-model. This model – expected shortly – is identical to the 64,000 Color LCD3220C5 touch screen with a diameter of 5.5” for a screen of a portable, but Vantage has designed the new one for installation in a tabletop model. It can be very useful in a TV-room. The second one is the Color LCD320C5V touch screen with video. This model will shortly enhance the Vantage range also. It is the same touch screen in terms of format and characteristics, but it has a video function as an extra. For example, on the touch screen users can view the images that security cameras record outside an inside their house. It is useful if you want to keep an eye on the children playing in the garden or in the swimming pool, while you are busy in the kitchen. The Designer Toolbox is a “plug in”-software that creates 2-way communication between the powerful Vantage system and the extremely flexible Macromedia Flash design software. A large dnp
screen introduces visitors to a cascade of water sports and leisure
activities at the entrance to the new “Centre Nautique” waterpark in Paris.
Backstage has selected SOFT ADS’ creative and unconventional rear pro
solution as installation of the month. Centre Nautique is the name of the new
waterpark in Paris Neuilly sur Seine. The main pool in the 26,4 million Euro
project covers more than 1000 sqm. Other pools are dedicated to swim
training, diving, and outdoor swimming. The Centre also features a wide range
of recreational facilities including a solarium, Turkish hammam baths, saunas
plus aerobics, fitness, and dancing studios. However, the fun begins already at
the entrance hall, where the architects have placed a huge dnp New Wide Angle
Screen. The 130” screen display water movies – including clips from 10 video
cameras located round the pools – and promotes a great variety of
recreational offers. To create an impressive “large as life” feeling, they
needed a big, high-resolution image. The screen also had to perform well
under high ambient light conditions especially during summer. A rear
projection with an optical screen was the obvious choice. Oray in cooperation with SOFT ADS by
David Levy, as the installer, decided for a solution based on a 130” dnp New
Wide Angle with an NEC GT6000 projector installed with a single-mirror rig in
a projection room with climate control. The screen became a popular eye-catcher,
which is part of the new waterpark experience. More: http://www.oray.fr 26) AIRSCREEN used at the Hong Kong

High definition video transmitted through DVI cables can break down beyond 15 feet in distance and all DVI copper cables experience this problem when used at resolutions of 1080i or higher. Therefore, Gefen, based in Woodland Hills, California/USA, released its DVI Booster, a small unit that corrects video signal degradation that occurs over stretches of DVI copper cables used to extend a display away from its high definition source. “With advance cabling and enhancement techniques using higher gauge copper cables, an addition distance of 30 to 50 feet may be achieved, but not always with 100 percent success,” explained Hagai Gefen. “The DVI Booster guarantees a 100 percent accurate reproduction of the image at any resolution.” In operation, the DVI Booster sits between the DVI copper cable and the display, correcting faults in the digital video it receives from the cable before passing it through to the display. The DVI Booster has proven effective in not only correcting cable faults from the video it receives, but also propelling the fixed signal an additional distance. The DVI Booster works with HDCP compliant content and DVI displays and cables. The operation of the device is more comfortable and the range of functions larger than ever before: Faster navigation times, extended options and improved control functionality. The upgrade of the control software, with a free download from Internet, offers some excellent options. The new function OVERSCAN H/V: Users can enter the Overscan value horizontal and vertical separately. With the Overscan, picture geometry errors can be corrected, which shows e.g. 15:9 displays with 1280 x 720 pixel or 5:4 displays with 1280 x 1024 pixel. With the separated Overscan function in addition, users can produce individual display formats (e.g. for anamorphe and nonanamorphe pictures) user-defined and stored for each entrance. The new extended function OVERSCAN DEFAULT: The pre-setting of the Overscan function can be changed for this input between Overscan “off”, “on V=H”, and “on H/V”. The new extended function NOISE REDUCTION: The parameters for the noise filter can be varied now between the stage 1 to 7. Different parameters are finely variable like dynamic (temporal) and spatial (surface-moderate) integration – so far only noise reduction “on” or “off”. The new conversion of the function key “menu”: The so-called EXPERT MENU is now integrated in the fourth place in the main menu and can be called by arrow key and “ok” key directly. The firmware 4.0 is available right now in the Internet. More: http://www.cinemateq.com Yours
