19) ict: „Animated Hardware“ To Trigger New Dimensions
Whether at trade shows, events,
conferences, AGMs, concerts or TV productions: Professional media technology
for creating worlds of experience, or as pure presentation media, is
state-of-the-art and one of the main components for a successful event these
days. Sophisticated communication concepts can be realized by using seamless
plasma displays, which are currently one of the most innovative and most
flexible developments in the presentation sector. At the Prolight+Sound in
Frankfurt (29th March until 1st April 2006), the ict Innovative Communication
Technologies AG together with their partners GTG presented breathtaking
application opportunities for these displays in hall 8.0, booth M64: On a 6
meter high media wall seamless plasma displays were moved vertically and
rotated around their centre screens – synchronous to the relevant display
contents. This symbiosis of mechanical, robotic and display technology is
only one of several opportunities for communication solutions created with
animated media. Dynamic movements via targeted acceleration and decelerating
of media are perfectly suitable as dramaturgical means for creating emotions.
Following the trade show motto „Creating Emotions“, visitors at the ict and
GTG booth were able to experience creative impulses for their communication
concepts. Further application opportunities for seamless plasma displays were
presented in the booth’s lounge, e.g. permanent installation solutions for
setting the scene visually in shops or at POI/POS.

25) ProCon: New innovative IP control
ProCon Technology has launched an
innovative IP control unit designed to make life easier for AV managers who
need to manage multiple installations. The ProCon IP unit and Site Manager
software allows AV managers to manage, monitor and communicate with AV
installations across a network. This means they can see exactly what the
state of play is of a projector or plasma screen, at any time, in any room –
without leaving the office. According to Chris Kendall, Managing Director of
ProCon Technology, the IP panel gives huge benefits to IT and AV managers in
any situation where they are managing multiple installations. “Imagine the
logistical challenges of keeping track of numerous AV installations over a
large number of sites – equipment gets left on, which results in burn in on
plasmas or short lamp life on projectors, or units go down and are only
discovered when a user comes to make a presentation. Our product removes these
types of frustrations, and gives the users more confidence in the systems
they are using. And of course, there’s a huge cost saving for the IT budget
by extending projector lamp life and preventing plasma burn in by allowing
you to remotely switch off devices. Our product also helps managers plan
maintenance and servicing schedules by recording equipment usage and time
between servicing”. The IP control panel and Site Manager software is
compatible with any brand of AV equipment, it can easily be retro fitted to
existing installations, regardless of what equipment is present.
