2)      IC: in-depth analysis for the projector market

DLP vs. LCD: Which technology will prevail? According to a new InterConnection (IC) study more than 265,000 multimedia projectors were sold in the third quarter 2004 in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). In the entire year 2004, for the first time more than 1 million sold projectors were counted. That is an increase of 28.3% in comparison to the previous year. And the forecasts reveal that this trend will continue over the next years. Hence, manufacturers now need to decide which technology will fit best in their portfolio because each segment poses a challenge of its own. But, which segment is the strongest and which technology will prove best? The IC-Market Tracking® Multimedia Projectors in EMEA is a detailed market and branch analysis of the projectors market. It contains market figures in value and quantity for the years 2002-2004, development predictions until 2007, as well as detailed sales figures and market shares of the Top manufacturers in Europe. The study is now available from the InterConnection Consulting Group.

4)      NEC: projectors with integrated whiteboard function

The NEC WT615 projector breaks ahead by offering a trail-blazing feature. The WT615 is NEC’s innovative projector model with an integrated whiteboard function. With eBeam hardware and software, the user has the unique opportunity of making notes on presentations directly on the projection surface. Users can write live onto projected charts using an electronic pen. At the end of the meeting, this information can be stored on a PC-card in the projector or on the presentation on the PC. Furthermore, the WT610 is succeeding the WT600 offering improved brightness and contrast ratio. A short projection distance allows for positioning the WT projectors in a distance of a mere 6.4cm from the projection surface. Both devices from the WT series are suitable for HDTV applications and thanks to a high contrast ratio enable pin sharp pictures – no matter if used for projections or at POS/POI.

The specially coated, glare-free LCD reduces reflection and the new technology of the flat front bezel reduces parallax. This allows the tip of the pen to be closer to the surface of the screen. Cintiq 21UX’s display can also be tilted into multiple positions from 10 to 60 degrees (horizontal to vertical) which exactly replicates the traditional way of working when moving a piece of paper on a drawing board.

28)  ict: MediaMast for large and small

As an internationally active system house ict AG relies on its own products above all in their wide-ranging product portfolio. The latest ict development is the „ict MediaMast“, a terminal mast with a height adjustable, touch-sensitive LC display. Due to its purist, high-grade design, the ict MediaMast can be integrated in almost every environment (height 210 cm, width 14 cm, depth 16 cm, base 50 cm). With a steel sheet housing (colour RAL 9006) and precision mechanics inside, the terminal mast offers stability and sturdiness at the same time. A 17” or 19” LCD can be moved vertically along an approximately 72 cm long mechanical setting range so that it can be adapted to the required height for the user. The display is then automatically fixed at the required height until it needs to be adjusted again. If desired the ict MediaMast is also available in other RAL colours or in stainless steel. In addition, speakers can be integrated individually, and an electrically adjustable display can be realized. If desired, different base forms can be delivered; even a direct wall mount without a base is possible.
