projectiondesign: Successful at the ISE
projectiondesign can look back on a successful
trade show appearance at this year’s ISE. The newcomers (founded in 2002)
could not be overlooked since their new booth design and a larger exhibiting
space attracted the visitors’ attention. The first single chip DLP projector
featuring a 1080 chip by Texas Instruments was the highlight on the booth. In
the business class, the Norwegian firm has enhanced their broad portfolio by
another top product, the evo2sx+. The cooperation with renown companies
operating in the 3D business such as CYVIZ proves the path that company
founder Jörn Ericsson has chosen to go is right,
namely above all manufacturing high-quality and high-resolution
projectors. More: http://www.projectiondesign.com |

4) Philips introduces VIDI technology
for digital video projection
Royal Philips Electronics (AEX:
PHI, NYSE: PHG) is going to take a mass introduction for its VIDI technology,
a new enabling lamp technology for Digital Video Projection, including both
Micro Display Projection Television (MD-PTV) and Consumer Front Projection.
The new technology will significantly improve the picture quality for the
end-users as well as reinforce the competitive position of Digital Projection
among the various display technologies. The first shipment of MD-PTV sets
with VIDI technology inside is expected to roll out in mid March. More: http://www.uhp.philips.com |

5) Toshiba PDT: Two New Super Close

Projector
An exciting movie experience and a
stunning picture quality – that’s what the new Sony VPL-HS60 projector
featuring a picture diagonal of up to 7.6 meters promises to offer. Thanks to
a brightness of 1200 ANSI lumens the VPL-HS50 successor ranks among the top
range of the home cinema projectors. The elegantly designed 16:9 projector
incorporates an especially developed 3 LCD technology that – with a High
Definition resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels – delivers top quality movies. Its intensive colour representation
featuring high contrasts and excellent black levels are due to a dynamic iris
diaphragm. Thanks to a new LCD panel and automatic mode in the „Cinema Black
Pro“ function the device achieves a maximum contrast
ratio of up to 10,000:1. Digital trapezoid adjustment allows for undistorted
images. Furthermore, thanks to a 1.6 zoom lens users are very flexible in the
choice of projection distance: Every distance between 2 and 5.7 metres is
possible. On the projector’s rear are inputs for video, S-video, Y/U/V
components, RGB, video and HDMI. The VPL-HS60 measures 348 x 135 x 350 mm,
and it weighs 5.6 kilos. More: http://www.sony-europe.com 7) Samsung: SP-H710AE Home Theatre
Projector
Samsung Electronics has combined
sophisticated design and advanced digital technology with the launch of its
SP-H710AE DLP™ home theatre projector. Equipped with HD2+ DMD ™ and the Dark
Chip 2, this projector achieves a resolution of 1280x720. The maximum
contrast lies at 2,800:1 (theatre mode), and maximum brightness is 700 ANSI
lumens. Designed to suit the needs of the home theatre market, Samsung’s
SP-H710AE features a six-segment colour wheel which further minimizes visible
sequential colour achieving brighter, more lifelike visual images. Samsung’s
SP-H710AE fan operates at just 28dB in theatre mode, eliminating any noise
interference. Numerous input terminals, including DVD-D (HDCP), 2 x
Component, S-Video, Composite and PC input, ensure easy installation,
operation and screen adjustments. CeBIT: Hall 1, Booth B41 More: http://www.samsung.de 8) Liesegang: e •motion 4100 – Big Screen
Not long ago, Liesegang
introduced a home cinema projector that is likely to arouse pure emotions:
the Liesegang e •motion 4100. The HDTV-compatible e
•motion 4100 DLP projector with the latest generation of dark chip technology
has a contrast ratio of 5,500:1 to provide images equal to the quality of any
cinema. With a luminous intensity of 1,000 ANSI lumens, it further ensures
superior projections in darkened rooms. The projector is fitted with a
premium 1.25 zoom lens to ensure even illumination
of the picture. As one of the first DLP projectors, the e •motion 4100
features horizontal (+/-15%) and vertical (+115 up to -100%) lens shift for
increased flexibility when arranging the projector at home. The high-quality
signal processing facility of the Liesegang e
•motion 4100 ensures optimum video quality. The high-resolution wide-screen
DMD provides the option of using the two most popular operating modes: 16:9 operation with 1,280 x 720 pixels for unforgettable movie
nights and 4:3 operation with 1,024 x 768 (interpolated) pixels for the
first-rate representation of files and digital photos. The dual-mode DMD
facilitates home cinema projections as much as professional back projections
for POS/POI applications in sales rooms and shop windows. Due to the quality
workmanship of its durable components and a sophisticated cooling system, the
projector can even be used for lengthy periods. The e •motion 4100 features
an automatic signal recognition function, automatically switches off where
required, and ensures pixel-to-pixel representations. Its colour management
system allows colour temperatures ranging from 6,000 to 10,000 kelvin. More: http://www.liesegang.de 9) BenQ: Micro Portable BenQ CP120 WLAN Projector
The BenQ
CP120 has been designed for mobile usage in professional environments. A mere
weight of 1.3 kg makes this projector one of the smallest devices on the
market featuring integrated WLAN. Data are received on basis of IEEE
802.11a/b/g standard. The projector is based on Texas Instruments’ DLP
technology and represents pin-sharp images. Thanks to a native XGA
resolution, a brightness of 1500 ANSI lumen, and a contrast of 2000:1, the BenQ CP120 realizes images that are rich in detail.
Thanks to quick installation, automatic keystone correction, and easy
operation, this device is immediately ready for use. A five segment colour
wheel is responsible for clear and saturated colours. In colour projections,
colour variations are minimized in the sRGB mode.
Through sRGB colour support, colours can be
represented uniformly on different devices. Due to a quick cooling function,
the BenQ CP120 only needs approximately 30 seconds
until it is ready to be disconnected from the power supply. CeBIT; Hall 1, Booth A39 More: http://www.benq-eu.com 10) Canon: Launches Complete | |||||||||
