In
partnership with Philips Just Lamps is launching the Diamond Lamps series. Diamond
Lamps are newly manufactured lamp modules designed to fit a wide range of
historic Philips projector models, each utilising a Philips UHP™ lamp
identical to that originally supplied in the projector. Diamond Re-Lamps are
lamp modules created by removing the lamps from existing lamp modules,
professionally refurbishing the housings and then re-fitting them with
Philips UHP™ lamps identical to the originals. Each lamp is a vital
electrical component of a projector’s design, essential to achieving optimum
image quality. Each Diamond lamp uses a Philips UHP™ lamp, identical to the
original ensuring that the projector brightness, colour, reliability and
lamp-life continue to be optimised after lamp replacement. The first batch of
Diamond Lamps to be launched will be compatible with a number of obsolete
Philips brand projectors. Diamond Re-Lamps will initially cover 280 different
projector models across several brands and can be supplied either from stock
or as a return-refurbishment service and like Diamond lamps, will come with 4
months of warranty. Both lines will expand substantially throughout 2007. More: http://www.justlamps.net 11) Da-Lite adds Silent Motor Option for Electric Screens

More: http://www.projectascreens.com 14) 3M: New Display Film and Super Close Projection Systems at ISE
3M
launched its revolutionary Vikuiti™ Rear Projection
Film at Integrated Systems Europe 2007. The flexible, easy to apply film
enables video, static images and dynamic messaging to be projected directly
onto windows and glass surfaces or partitions, becoming the centre of
attraction in any high street or shopping mall. A range of digital wall
displays and interactive whiteboards were also on show with the brand new
Digital Media System 700 and 800 Series, featuring Vikuiti
Super Close Projection from 3M. The Vikuiti films
can be cut to any shape or size, and can be applied directly onto glass
surfaces. This overcomes poor visibility issues by reducing the number of
reflective surfaces and displaying strong, brightly coloured images, with the
highest black/white contrast ratios, and excellent levels of definition, to
viewers watching from the other side of the glass. All this, combined with
180 degree viewing angles, makes the display ideal for any application where
images need to be seen either close to or from a distance. Visitors to the
stand saw these eye-catching Vikuiti Rear
Projection Films running 3M Digital Signage software. 3M’s software provides
advanced content and network management functionality for networks of any
size. Organisations are given central control of their marketing content
delivery, with the ability to change or update messages dynamically, and even
to deliver different messages at different times of day to address the
changing audience profile. The software is compatible with popular multimedia
file formats and offers the ability to divide screens into multiple content
‘zones’ as well as the easy incorporation of live data feeds such as weather
or news reports. 3M has shown also preview key additions to its line of
digital products for enhanced visual communications in classrooms,
boardrooms, meeting rooms, small office, home office or living rooms. Based
on the pioneering Vikuiti Super Close Projection
optical lens technology, the new products enable delivery of exceptionally
large, sharp images from very close to the screen. More: http://www.3mdigitalsignage.com 15) Vogel’s: Floorstand for LCD and plasma
displays
Vogel’s
Professional launched the PFF1500 floorstand for
LCD and plasma displays. As a freestanding floorstand
with extensive height adjustment, it is a convenient solution for placing
displays on exhibition stands, and in studio, showrooms and similar
professional applications where ease of assembly and robustness are
essential. The stable construction accommodates screen sizes up to 40”
weighing up to 40kg (88 lbs). Two extendible poles facilitate height
adjustment from 120 to 170cm, making it possible to set the ideal viewing
height for any situation. Thanks to its simple contraction comprising just
two main components – a base plate and pole set – the PFF 1500 is both quick
and easy to install. The pole set is simply attached to the base plate and
locked using safety screws. In common with all Vogel’s products, safety is a
key consideration in the design of PFF 1500, and it is TÜV/GS tested and
approved. Two optional universal display interfaces/adapters (FAU 3125 and
FAU 3150) are available to make it possible to mount almost any display type.
For supporting additional equipment on the PFF 1500, Vogel’s has also
introduced the PFA 9027 accessory tray. The stand is made of high-quality
aluminium and steel with a powder-coat finish. Vogel’s Professional products
are sold via distributors in various countries. More: http://www.vogels.com 16) Planar: New Display and Control Room Offerings at ISE 2007

range
Crystal clear pictures in 1080p
high-definition resolution, impressive design and the highest levels of quality
and reliability: this is the new MULTEOS range from NEC Display Solutions.
These 40 and 46 inch LCD Public Displays come in three different versions: As
a standard solution with PC connections, with an AV Board, which provides
video connections only, or alternatively with an AV
Board and built-in TV tuner. Sophisticated screenings in exhibition halls,
television broadcasts or high-resolution content in the digital signage
sector all require top quality large format LCD-Displays, which are geared-up
for everyday use and which communicate the client’s material clearly and
authoritatively. With the new MULTEOS M40 and M46 multi-functional monitors,
NEC Display Solutions is facing up to rising demand in this market and is
living up to its claim to be an innovative manufacturer and the market leader
in the public display sector. CeBIT: More: http://www.nec-display-solutions.com 18) NEC: New High definition display series
NEC has renewed
its plasma product portfolio. The portfolio includes the XM series for
business users and the XR series for consumers. The new NEC plasma displays
have improved image quality and lower power consumption than their
predecessors. The XR series models for high-end home cinema applications and
design-oriented business users are available with a 42-inch screen diagonal
in XGA resolution and with 50 and 60-inch screens in WXGA resolution. The
special features of the XR series include dynamic contrast adjustment, which
automatically ensures extra-high contrast in very dark or light environments,
and the AMX Café Duet Protocol for interactive media, household technology
and presentation PC connections. Weight has been considerably reduced,
especially in the NEC 50XR6, which weighs nine kilograms less than the
predecessor model. This is due to the use of a bonded colour filter instead
of a glass filter. Power consumption in all models has been reduced by 20
percent, partly because they have integrated auto luminance management which
automatically reduces luminance in stationary images. New panels in 50XR6 and
60XR5 enable even higher image quality. Better colour fidelity, more
brightness, finer grey scale display and higher contrast deliver more
realistic and detailed images. The integrated Clear Drive System prevents
false contour effects. The XR series offers diverse connection options,
including two HDMI interfaces. The NEC 42XM5, NEC 50XM5 and NEC 60XM6
high-end monitors have the majority of features incorporated in the XR
models, but they are mainly oriented on professional business users, such as
TV studios, trade fair exhibitors, banks and hospitals. In addition to their
business-friendly design, the XM models also differ from consumer models
because they weigh more and have interfaces that are oriented on business
needs. For example, the XM plasmas have a DVI-D interface, plus component
video and analogue video connections via BNC cable. Like the XR series, the
XM models' factory guarantee can be extended by a further year to three years.
