16)  Mitsubishi: 67XP SXGA+ Wall Cube

At the ISE exhibition in Amsterdam, Mitsubishi Display Engineering showed the new 67XP Display Wall Cube with SXGA+ native resolution. SXGA+ is a new format with a 4:3 aspect ration of 1400 x 1050 pixels. Unlike the obsolete SXGA with its odd 5:4 ratio, SXGA+ is the same 4:3 shape as SVGA and XGA. The high resolution SXGA+ cube is good for close-up viewing, such as the system on show at ISE – two wide display for a Miranda Kaleido processor for previewing many small windows on one or two large screens. For control room applications, a wall of 50” XGA cubes gives the same angular resolution due to the greater viewing distance. For large control rooms it is better to use 67” XGA cubes because the wall is even further away, so the angular resolution is maintained. The SXGA+ brings this angular resolution to close-up screens, positioned just in front of the operators. The 67XP uses a new engine and new ultra short-throw, low distortion optics specially designed for the SXGA+ DPL chip. It has a Speed Swap lamp change as standard and incorporates all of the features of the XL series cubes such as auto brightness balancing, Smart Lamp color correction, and CSC set-up software for fast installation. The 67XP is available from Q2.

18)  Fujitsu General: enhancing visual product business

Fujitsu Limited announced that it has reached a basic agreement with Hitachi Ltd. Regarding changes in share ratio in their joint venture company "Fujitsu Hitachi Plasma Display Limited" (FHP).
