SIM2: Grand Cinema C3X LUMIS HOST
SIM2, the
Italian manufacturer whose striking high-performance HD home theater
projectors are known worldwide for their pristine video and dramatic cabinet
designs, delivers a new addition to the award winning Grand Cinema C3X
Series. SIM2’s Grand Cinema C3X LUMIS HOST pairs a reference standard 3-chip
DLP-based projector with a discrete outboard projector control electronics
module that connects via SIM2’s proprietary, three-line optical-digital
High-Definition Optical Signal Transfer (H.O.S.T.) system, which is able to
connect the two over distances up to 250m (750 feet). “The C3X 1080 is
considered the projector of choice when it comes to benchmark three-chip DLP
performance in a compact yet elegant chassis. The C3X LUMIS HOST system is a
natural evolution for the Grand Cinema C3X 1080 Series,” said Maurizio Cini,
President of SIM2. “We are now offering a three-chip solution that blends the
beauty of the Grand Cinema C3X series with the brains of a professional and
modular processor system. The ability to separate the projector from its
control electronics by fiber-optic cable with a loss-less connection, allows
our dealers the ultimate flexibility of installation.” The Grand Cinema C3X
LUMIS HOST is based on a trio of the latest 0.95-inch, 1080p DLP chipsets
from Texas Instruments and their next-generation DarkChip4 DLP device partnered
with SIM2’s proprietary ALPHAPATH light engine. This powerful combination
forms a system that delivers full-HD, 1920x1080 progressive video of stunning
clarity and definition. ISE: 1L49 More: http://www.sim2.com |

5) Canon: High Definition and High Style at ISE 2009
Canon is
giving prospective business partners, distributors and AV Specialists the
chance to experience the power of the WUX10 in a dedicated theatre space.
Featuring WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels) and 3200 lumens, the WUX10
delivers exacting performance via a triumvirate of Canon technologies: LCOS
panels, the AISYS optical system, and a Canon 1.5x Zoom Lens with 10:1 lens
offset. With custom-made projection screens from Canon’s Austrian business
partner, AV Stumpfl, visitors can fully realize the capabilities of WUX10.
Knowledgeable Canon staff will be on hand to discuss possible applications
and introduce visitors to the entire Canon projector range. The latest model
will be a compelling addition to a range already synonymous with optical
excellence and style. “With the introduction of Canon’s own LCOS display
panels earlier this year, together with our Advanced AISYS optical system,
Canon now stands at the forefront of High Definition image projection. Our
newest product brings WUXGA and Full HD projection to the high-brightness
business projector market”, said Alan Dempster, European Product Specialist,
Canon Europe. ISE: 4N46 More: http://www.canon-europe.com 6)

projectiondesign: Think inside the box
projectiondesign will use
Integrated Systems Europe 2009 to showcase a completely updated range of
professional projectors, as well as the range of high-end home theatre
products, and the latest in 3D stereoscopic projection systems. Anders Løkke,
International Marketing and Communications Manager, notes the irony of
projectiondesign this year choosing to showcase its products inside a ‘black
box’ – a term often used to describe items of technology whose inner workings
are kept secret from prying eyes. “Given that many of our projectors are used
in research applications which, for political, scientific, or commercial
reasons are top-secret, it seems rather appropriate for us to showcase the
latest fruits of our own R&D in a way that is controlled and discreet,”
he says. Among the new products on view ‘in the box’ will three completely
revamped product platforms – the F12, F22 and F32 series – all of which are
updated to feature performance enhancing VIDI lamp technology from Philips,
and with completely revised colour management and configuration options. Also
on show are the 3-chip F80 series projectors and the F10 AS3D DLP high
resolution portable active stereo projector, and solutions using
projectiondesign’s implementation of INFITEC 3D stereographic technologies.
Designed for scientific 3D visualization, simulation and production
applications, the F10 AS3D features a range of patented technologies and uses
active LCD shutter glasses. ISE: 1J51 and 1K88 More: http://www.projectiondesign.com 8) Christie: New LCD Projector with 4DColor technology
Christie
introduces the new Christie LX700 with 4DColor technology. This new
four-panel LCD projector offers an incredible combination of real color and
high brightness in a compact size. At 7,000 lumens and XGA resolution, the
Christie LX700 is ideal for large venues, educational facilities, retail
environments, corporate boardrooms and training, rental staging and houses of
worship. At the core of the Christie LX700 is 4DColor technology combined
with inorganic LCD panels. 4DColor provides a 20% increase in color gamut
over previous three-panel LCD models. The inorganic panels help create a
“natural black” for sharper images and increased contrast ratio. Backed by
Christie’s top rated service and support network, the Christie LX700 joins
Christie’s leading line-up of projectors that range from 4,000 lumens to the
brightest at 30,000 lumens. ISE:

CASIO: Eight super slim business
projectors at ISE
Presentations
on the move with CASIO’s high-performance projectors: CASIO is presenting
eight super slim models from their successful range of slender-fit
projectors. The super slim models XJ-S57, S52, S47, S42, S37 and S32 are
available. All new Models in the XJ series have an RS232c interface which
allows projector operation via the controls and integration into existing
systems. The highlights of the eight are the business models XJ-SC215 and
XJ-SC210. Technical enhancements in the new high-performance business models
XJ-SC210 and XJ-SC215 with their USB interface are centred on colour
reproduction optimisation in projections. To realize such an improvement,
CASIO has introduced a specially developed colour wheel. The new intelligent lamp
control has also decidedly improved colour reproduction of these super-slim
projectors. This innovative technology produces excellent colour contrast and
display without detracting from white tones. ISE: 4P37 More: http://www.casio-projectors.com 10) KINDERMANN exhibits a wide range of products
At the ISE
2009 KINDERMANN is presenting many new products for presentation,
installation and conferencing. For the first time at the ISE, KINDERMANN is
introducing the three new business sectors of its comprehensive sales
programme to a broad audience. The sector ”presentation” stands for
projectors and flat screen displays. KINDERMANN is showing five new business
projectors with 3LCD technology. The sector “installation” comprises all
system and installation components, e.g. modular connection systems, ceiling
mounts and lifts, media control as well as digital signage. The new ceiling
lift Pro XL is the jumbo unit, which can carry projectors of up to 50 kg
weight. Its lifting range from 1.20 m to 2.50 m is standard equipment and up
to 3.40 m optional. The PIXIE+ Display Control is the latest version of the
successful KINDERMANN media control. It is a modular AV control for
projectors, flat screen displays or other equipment. All devices can be
simply controlled by a central panel. Digital Signage is a new field in the
sector of “Installation”. KINDERMANN offers a presentation management system
called “easescreen”, which allows the user to produce, manage and transmit
multimedia contents easily and quickly. In the sector “conferencing”
KINDERMANN offers solutions to meet sophisticated demands in the fields of
conference technology and modern media. This includes audio and video
conferencing. The new MultiMedia trolley is perfectly designed for the use in
today’s offices. ISE: 1H125 More: http://www.kindermann.com 11) Da-Lite: New products and

More: http://www.da-lite.com 12) dnp denmark: New ceiling mount system
for dnp Supernova Flex
dnp
announced the release of a new Ceiling Cassette for discreet installation of
the retractable dnp Supernova Flex Screen. The ceiling-mounted system targets
users who prefer their Supernova Screen to “vanish” when not in use. At the
push of a button, the Supernova Flex Screen rolls down through a slot in the
2mm thin cover. The Ceiling Cassette and the Supernova Flex Screen can be
installed in two separate steps. This prevents the screen from being damaged
during construction work, and makes mounting safe and convenient for the
AV-installer: The Supernova Flex Screen comes standard with an infrared
remote control, connection for wall switch, 5-12 V (low-voltage) trigger and
RS-232 communication with easy access from outside the cassette. The Ceiling
Cassette is made from aluminium and comes with a white cover plate (RAL 9010)
or a raw unpainted plate as standard. The cover plate is available in any RAL
colour on request. The Cassette is available for the following dnp Supernova
Flex screen sizes: 72”, 84” and 100” in 4:3 format and 72”, 84”, 92” and 100”
in 16:9 format. ISE:

Management System
The most
sophisticated, integrated voice alarm and PA system ever offered by TOA, the
new SX-2000 Audio Management System, is a fully scalable, network-enabled
product line that makes the distribution of BGM, paging, and emergency
messaging across large buildings and multiple-site facilities easier than
ever before. With the SX-2000SM System Manager as its ‘hub’, the range offers
a variety of options designed to offer maximum flexibility in system design
and installation, including multiple audio input and output units, fireman’s
microphone stations, and remote mic extensions. Minimum system configuration
is eight inputs by eight outputs, and this expandable to a maximum of 64
inputs and 128 outputs, with as many as 776 control ins and outs and with 16
audio buses plus 2 emergency buses. To provide absolutely failsafe operation,
the SX-2000 can remain fully functional on DC power and offers both network
and power-supply redundancy. It also offers an additional analogue backup
facility. Malfunctions or failures in the system are detected within 100
seconds, generating both a display alert and an audible signal. At the same
time, a failure log is created, transmitted via TCP/IP and can be stored on a
connected PC. ISE: 3B124 More: http://www.toa-corp.co.uk 33) D.A.S. Audio: New D.A.S. LX-218
Subwoofer System
D.A.S.
Audio has launched its new LX-218 bass-reflex subwoofer system. The LX-218
high efficiency system is designed to provide outstanding performance in
terms of output power (142 dB peak SPL), bandwidth extension and distortion control.
The new horizontal cabinet configuration incorporates two 18-inch long
excursion speakers in addition to state-of-the-art electronic technology,
using third generation Class D amplifiers for the powered versions. The
system is designed to provide high-level sub-bass reinforcement for mid-high
units such as D.A.S. Aero line array systems. They are ideal for P.A.
applications using systems for mid-to-large scale events in arenas, stadiums
or theatres, ensuring magnificent levels of bass reinforcement. The design
philosophy behind the LX-218 is an advanced electro-acoustic solution with
all of the main components including speakers, amplifier and electronic
controls designed as one integrated system. The result is outstanding
response and efficiency that surpass any of its predecessors. The current
range comprises four models; two passive, LX-218/218R and two powered,
LX-218A/218RA. Both “R” models incorporate a rigging system so that they can
be flown in line array formations together with D.A.S. Aero systems. Cabinets
can easily be upgraded to an arrayable version with the rigging hardware kit
at a later stage if required. ISE: 3C104 More: http://www.dasaudio.com 34) Analog Way: 20-year anniversary in
2009
Analog Way is pleased to celebrate in 2009
its 20-year anniversary. Founded by Marc Loret and Pierre Berthet, two
pioneers in the computer to video scan conversion technology field, the
company Analog Way will celebrate its 20-year anniversary in 2009. Over the
past 20 years, Analog Way has become a real forerunner thanks to the
development of solutions that revolutionized the A/V industry. Located close
to Paris, France, the company designs and manufactures its products in
France. Among the flagship products developed by Analog Way, the Graphic
Switcher, launched at NAB 1999, is the first “Seamless Switcher” designed for
“live” events and operations. The company moved further in 2002 with the
Graphic Switcher II allowing multi-screen applications. The iX range was then
introduced to enhance Analog Way’s Soft Edge Blending solutions, with
products such as the EventiX, Di-VentiX and Di-VentiX II, the newest product
of the range launched in 2008. Analog Way product line includes a full array
of high resolution mixers and seamless switchers, scan converters, scalers /
switchers, interfaces and event controllers. ISE:

2009
looks set to be the year for 3D, a reality that was apparent across the
breadth of the CES show, with many key players in the industry pulling out
all the stops to showcase their 3D capabilities. With a myriad of competing
technologies and 3D concepts out there, Futuresource Consulting is excited to
announce the launch of a new market report outlining opportunities and
challenges for 3D in cinema, broadcasting, TV display equipment, gaming,
video content delivery and the outdoor advertising and digital signage
industries. Hollywood's ultimate goal is to bring 3D into people's homes to
fully maximise this revenue stream, as only 25-30% of the revenues a studio
earns from a blockbuster film come from the box office. “Crucially, much of
the backbone technology has arrived and is already in many people's homes,
without them even realising it,” says Sarah Carroll, Director Strategy
Consulting & Continuous Services, Futuresource Consulting. “Within the
next five to ten years we’re going to see 3D prevalent across the home
entertainment industry, with 3D technologies increasingly installed in
households.” More: http://www.futuresource-consulting.com 36) ISE: Event partners agree to
postpone ISMEA 2009
Integrated
Systems Events, LLC, and UBMI UAE Jersey Limited (formerly CMPi UAE Jersey
Limited) have announced the postponement of the inaugural Integrated Systems
Middle East Africa (ISMEA) tradeshow. Originally scheduled to be held 23–24
March 2009 at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Center (ADNEC), the show will now be
staged at a later date. “We had a tremendous response from the AV and
electronic systems industry to our plans to launch an event in this region,”
comments Mike Blackman, Managing Director, Integrated Systems Events.
“However, in the light of trading conditions, some of our key exhibitors had
raised concerns about the timing of the event. We have always listened
closely to the advice of our industry and tried to tailor our events to suit
its needs, and we believe that postponement is the best option for all of us
at this time.” Kent Daniels, Event Director, UBMI UAE Jersey Limited, adds:
“While it is always disappointing to postpone the launch of an event such as
ISMEA, it is not in anybody’s interest to proceed with a new show if market
conditions are making it difficult to deliver an event of the quality and
integrity for which both of our organisations are renowned. By taking this
decision now, we and Integrated Systems Events are securing the future of the
ISMEA show as the region’s only B2B event dedicated to professional AV and
electronic systems integration.” More: http://www.iseurope.org Good bye,
