14)  Eyevis: Complete product range at ISE

In recent years there has been a change concerning the display technology used in control centres. In the meantime conventional mosaic walls, single monitors and other solutions have been replaced by projection screens, consisting of so called cubes, for reasons of increasing flexibility standards. These back projection-cubes are available in various technologies, resolution standards and sizes. The most common display technology, which comes into operation in most control centres is the DLP technology invented by Texas Instruments. The resolution of each projection module reaches from SVGA over XGA up to SXGA and SXGA+ (1,400 X 1,050 pixels). The total resolution of a wall rises the more cubes are used. The screen diagonal ranges from 50“ to 84“. On this years ISE eyevis will show the complete product range consisting of large screen cubes based on the DLP technology, controllers, wallmanagement software: the 3x2 50“ XGA DLP cube System, which is configured completely redundant. Such a redundancy is extremely important for critical applications in a 24/7 environment; the complete controller range will be introduced: netpix npx9000, netpix npx3800 and npx2000 Series. These controllers are network based graphic systems for large screen systems; the 2x1 SXGA+ DLP cube system; the eyecon Wallmanagement Software: This intelligent software allows the complete management, control and administration of a large screen system and all connected sources. In addition it includes diverse features as alarm management, automated events etc.; the openWARP controller: With the openWARP normal projectors can be driven. It is possible to make the geometrical correction and to project nearly on all screen forms. The system is also able to make image blending and –warping; the EYE-18: The EYE-18 Multiformat converter is a universal up-/down-converter with adjustable digital DVI output with a lot of additional functions. 16)  AV Stumpfl: Wings Platinum with numerous improvements

The Software Wings Platinum, by the Austrian manufacturer AV Stumpfl, is continuously further developed. The new version 2.40 comprises numerous new features largely focussing on Show Control applications. AV users, on the other hand, have also been provided with a few "goodies", such as asynchronous loop playback, time stretching and output of surround sound tracks as Windows Media Video. Asynchronous loop playback allows a presentation to be paused while some interval music or background noise is being continued. Asynchronous video playback is an ideal way of showing animated background or logos during the interval. However, Wings Platinum takes this function one step further. Asynchronous video loops allow interactive and external control of show contents via keypads, motion detectors or light barriers. This is done by putting asynchronous video objects into "Auto Mute" mode for the videos to be rendered invisible when playback is started. They are only played and become visible after being activated via a trigger or a serial command. The object in the timeline only defines the time frame for a possible playback and is used for transparency control. Time stretching is a feature many AV users have been waiting for. So far, audio objects could be compressed or expanded, but the pitch was always affected as well. Through audio re-rendering, the time stretching function ensures that the pitch is not affected so that music and speech sound normal. This provides for more flexibility in matching sound and acoustic effects to images and scenes - a particular advantage for videos. The time stretching function requires the Audio FX/Pro Module, which allows also sound editing via 17 plug-ins (Equalizer, Compressor, Delay, Stereo Expander, etc.) and output of sound on up to 24 channels. For some time now, Wings Platinum has supported output of the widely used WMV format (Windows Media Video). Version 2.40 now also permits output of WMV multi-channel sound in 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. This is a particularly interesting feature, now that the first HD-DVD players are appearing on the market. Some of these DVD players already support WMV up to 1920 x 1080 pixels as well as 5.1 audio outputs, thereby turning into high-quality players suitable for permanent installations. Wings Platinum now uses the latest version of the MPEG-2 codec by MainConcept. Among other features, this codec has been modified to support new formats such as HDV and allows a frame rate of up to 60 frames per second, also for picture sizes exceeding 1024 x 768 pixels. This provides for softer and more fluent motion in rendered shows. On the companies Website you find more information and details. ISE: Stand E 11
