2) ISCO: New 1,77x Anamorphic video attachment
With the anamorphic factor 1,77x it is possible now to fill a
2.35:1 Cinemascope screen without light loss and loss in resolution with a
4:3 projector (SXGA+ or XGA). Based on the anamorphic
lens technology ISCO offers a solution for the optical image conversion
without light loss and loss in resolution for the various image formats
commonly used in D-Cinema, E-cinema, Home Cinema and Business Applications.
The universal attachments with the respective anamorphic
factor (1,33x, 1,42x or 1,77x) allow the projection of a 16:9 format, a
1.85:1 Widescreen- or of a 2.35:1 Cinemascope - format with a 4:3 projector
or a projection of a Cinemascope 1:2,35 format or a 4:3 format with a 16:9
projector. The anamorphic video attachments can be
used with almost all projector types. It is placed on a stand in front of the
prime lens of the projector. Instead of being electronically decompressed the
projected image of a DVD is optically decompressed. This means that there is
no light loss during projection as the complete panel size is used. With the
advanced technology of the anamorphic lens, you
have no more black bars across the top and bottom of the picture area,
lowering the resolution, brightness and contrast of the image on the screen.
With an optical image conversion the brilliance and magnificence of the
original formats is sustained. More. http://www.iscoprecisionoptics.com |

Sony: Home Entertainment Projector with 10,000:1 Contrast Ratio
Sony
Europe announced the introduction of the Sony VPL-HS60, an HD-ready home
cinema projector with a stunning contrast ratio of 10,000:1. The 1,200 ANSI
lumens VPL-HS60 is a welcome addition to the portfolio and complements the
VPL-HS50. The compact and quiet VPL-HS60 offers a host of advanced features
that will satisfy even the most ardent film-lovers. The projector’s contrast
ratio is the result of 3LCD technology, which uses separate panels for red,
green and blue, to produce brighter pictures, better detail and natural
colours. The VPL-HS60 has a resolution of 2.8 million pixels (1280 x 720 x
3), an HDMI connector and 12 bit panel driver for optimum picture quality.
Real Colour Processing (RCP) technology by Sony allows customers to make
detailed adjustments to projected colours, in order to obtain a picture
exactly suited to individual taste. The All Range Crisp Focus (ARC-F) lens
ensures picture uniformity across the entire screen. Sony has made
improvements to the optical unit, which uses a ‘High Contrast Plate’ to
achieve superb results. The VPL-HS60 also incorporates Sony’s Advanced Iris
Control function, which controls the shutter aperture to produce whites that
are brighter in the bright scenes and black which is deeper in the dark
scenes. More: http://www.sony-europe.com 5)
Mitsubishi Electric: XD490U/XD460U
Mitsubishi
Electric presents two new mobile DLP presentation beamers, XD490U and XD460U.
Both models consist of a Dark Chip 3 as well as BrilliantColor
technology. Thanks to BrilliantColor, complementary
colours’ contrast ratio is increased and at the same, the colour intensity is
further improved over the entire CIE colour diagram. 3000 ANSI lumens
(XD490U) and 2600 ANSI lumens (XD460U) allow for excellent images even in
bright rooms. The long lamp life span of up to 5000 hours in Low Mode
minimizes operation costs. Users are optimally equipped for any kind of
presentation with this mobile, 2.9 kg device. XD490U and XD460U come with
DVI-D input, which can decode HDCP signals. More: http://www.mitsubishi-evs.de/en/home.asp 6)

technology. Thanks to XGA resolution, the BenQ
CP120 delivers a brightness level of 1500 ANSI lumens and a contrast of
2000:1. Thanks to quick installation, automatic keystone correction and easy
handling, this device is immediately ready to use. A fifth colour wheel (red,
green, blue, transparent and yellow) is responsible for clear and full colour
reproduction. Colour un-uniform is minimized through the sRGB
colour spectrum. The support through the sRGB
colour spectrum secures a realistic and natural representation of colours. More: http://www.benq-eu.com 7)
Geha: compact 283 with Integrated USB Interface
Geha
presents the new Geha beamer compact 283, a
projector with integrated USB interface. Users don’t need to bring a notebook
anymore. A small USB memory stick containing prepared documents is sufficient
to start a presentation. An integrated playback module recognizes the
documents, and the projector represents the desired pictures. The included
remote control controls the presentation, or images can be shown as automatic
slide show. This allows for realizing cost-effective projections featuring
recurrent visual information on trade shows, in hotels or for advertising
applications. Preparing the USB stick for presentations is really easy:
Included software converts all necessary documents in just one mouse click
into jpeg files, which then are saved on the USB stick. Naturally, the Geha compact 283 consists of all common connections
necessary for image transmission, including a M1-DA and an analogue PC
connection, as well as video, S-video and audio connectivity. Thanks to the
native XGA DLP technology and a 1000:1 contrast ratio, the Geha compact 283 delivers 2000 ANSI lumens at a mere
weight 2.4 kg. More: http://www.geha.de 8) Liesegang ddv•3200 – the quietly powerful

100" HoloPro Disks as Transparent Video Wall
Music
Group Inc., with over 900 locations one of the leading US dealers for music,
film, games and books, uses HoloPro™ to re-equip
its Sam Goody shops. Under the brand name Graze the Music Group enters the
market of digital and wireless technologies. The young audience shall
experience digital products and contents in an unusual ambience. According to
Musicland’s CEO, Jack Chadsey,
Graze represents a way of thinking inspired by young customers catching the
spirit of a whole generation. Most striking part of the shop concept is a 6.5
sqm large HoloPro™ video
wall. Guests can watch recent concerts on the HoloPro™
wall located in a lounge. Graze, therefore, is also a meeting point that
creates a corporate feeling. By means of the transparent HoloPro™
video wall, interactive displays, individual audio, and room scents, all
senses are being addressed. The implemented 100" HoloPro™
HX disks are very suitable for structuring rooms. Thanks to lightweight,
transparent HoloPro™ disks, lounge-like rooms are
created that invite customers to stay and chill out but at the same time,
these rooms always remain visible. At Graze, HoloPro™
video walls show varying contents and thus provide ever-changing impressions.
At the base of the video walls is the patented HoloPro™
technology. HoloPro™ consists of holographic
optical elements, which are brought onto high-transparent film via laser. Due
to the light-controlling HoloPro™ effect, images

HP: Life-Like Communication with HP’s Halo
Collaboration Studios
HP today
introduced a first-of-its-kind collaboration studio for simulating
face-to-face business meetings across long distances, brought to life in
partnership with DreamWorks Animation SKG. The HP Halo Collaboration Studio
enables people in different locations to communicate in a vivid, face-to-face
environment in real time. Whether across a country or across the world, users
are able to see and hear one another's physical and emotional reactions to
conversation and information as it is being shared. By giving participants
the remarkable sense that they are in the same room, the Halo Collaboration
Studio is already transforming the way businesses communicate across the
globe. Halo significantly increases team effectiveness, provides faster
decision-making capabilities and decreases the need for travel. Unlike any other
communication tool on the market today, the HP Halo Collaboration Studio is a
precisely designed broadcast studio that contains all the components
necessary to enhance business communication. To connect via Halo,
organizations purchase at least two Halo rooms set up for six people each.
There are three plasma displays in each room that enable participants to see
those they are collaborating with in life-size images. The rooms come
equipped with studio-quality audio and lighting and participants use a simple
on-screen user interface to begin collaborating with just a few mouse clicks.
An intricate software control system ensures Halo rooms work easily and
seamlessly together. The control system also provides precise image and
colour calibration, so participants see each other as they appear in real
life. A dedicated HP Halo Video Exchange Network provides a high-bandwidth
experience with imperceptible delays between Halo studios worldwide. To
ensure a 24x7 connection and eliminate the need for enterprises to manage the
operation and maintenance of a Halo room, services offered include network
operations and management, remote diagnostics and calibration, concierge,
equipment warranty and ongoing service and repair. Participants can easily
share documents and data directly from their notebook PCs with individuals in
other rooms using a collaboration screen mounted above the plasma displays.
The rooms also contain a high-magnification camera that enables individuals
to zoom in on objects on a table, revealing the finest of details and colour
shading, and a phone that opens a conference call line to those not in one of
the Halo rooms. Microprocessor design and manufacturing firm AMD gains
